Rules
⛓️Each monster has specific chains and/or tasks that need to be completed.
Examples:
1. Create a chain of 3 using titles consecutively (ABC)
-All the Light We Cannot See
-Becoming Mrs. Lewis
-Catching Fire
2. Create a chain of 3 with "dog" in the titles
-Shoe Dog: A Memoir by the Creator of Nike
-The Dog Stars
-Hot Dog Girl
⛓️One person should NOT complete a whole chain by themselves. This is a team challenge. However, if a monster has multiple chains and a slower reader can only/want to only read for 1 or 2 chains (they must read at least one), then the other two faster readers on the team can complete the other chains between the two of them.
⛓️You may choose which monster from the list to capture first but you MUST complete it BEFORE starting a new creature.
⛓️You may use or drop articles: A, An, The
⛓️Standard Rules Apply
⛓️Since you have chosen to play non-competitively, you will play a self-paced game. You may choose to stop any time you want or continue until you have completed all monsters.

Godzilla



Godzilla is depicted as a prehistoric sea monster that was awakened and empowered by nuclear radiation. Although Godzilla doesn't like humans he will fight alongside humanity against common threats. His signature weapon is its atomic heat beam. He has immense physical strength and muscularity. As an amphibious creature, he can traverse the earth but can also breathe underwater. He is immune to conventional weapons and has the ability to regenerate.

To capture Godzilla you need 4 chains to chain him up so he can be removed to a secure facility.

Complete the following tasks:
Arm 1: Read a chain of 3 books with sea monsters in the story
Arm 2: Read a chain of 3 books with muscles shown on the cover (hot men count!)
Leg 1: Read a chain of 3 books with someone/something that can breathe underwater (mermaids & paranormal creatures count!)
Leg 2: Read a chain of 3 books that start with a letter in Godzilla but it must be the same letter for all 3 books (you will need to decide which letter to use as a team)

After a question, in the original challenge about Buddy Reads, I have decided to give you the same bonus points for an informal buddy read as the HOB Formal Buddy Read. Here are the rules:

*Your buddy must be on your team
*You may do a buddy read of 2 or 3 (as you have teams of 3)
*The book must fit one of your tasks, of course

To sign up for an informal buddy read click Here and a thread will be set up for you. This option will be added to the Buddy Read bonus dropdown in your spreadsheets shortly.

You guys don't need to worry about the bonus points as you aren't competing (or the spreadsheets) but you may do a buddy read if you want.

For Leg 2, I will be reading an L and an A book soon, but I have no problem reading for any of the other letters. With 5 gazillion books on my TBR list I can do any of them.

I can't think of a team name. I keep drawing a blank. The only thing that is coming to mind is something with Beast in the title like..

I'm reading a lot of A books for this month. L is the next in abundance. But if there is another letter that is easier for you and Christine to read we can go with that. I have something for every letter of the alphabet.

The first couple of books were really good. I love "creature feature" books. The 3rd book is not bad, but the characters will piss you off. You would think that by book 4 the MC and his family would move the hell away from the California coast, stay off boats, and move to somewhere that is landlocked like Nebraska or Oklahoma or even the middle of Mongolia. But alas no and that is why there are 3 more books after this..lol. Not only do we have Megladon's, but we are also introduced to a Plesiosaurus. Good Times !!!

Another author that I enjoy that you could use for arm 1 is Hunter Shea. He has several sea monster books.

Arm 1 - You can read any author you want as long as it has a sea monster in it. Christene and I just happened to read the same author.

Arm 2 - Any book you want with muscles on the cover

Leg 1 - Any book that contains someone or something that can breathe underwater

Leg 2 - A book with a title that starts with an L

Sorry...I'm all confused. The book started with a D and not the L we need. I have no idea what I was thinking.

The MUTOs are prehistoric parasites. They survived by attacking and killing members of Godzilla's species and laying their eggs in the carcasses. A male & female MUTO that emerged from spores left in carcasses found each other in San Francisco. They built a nest together but Godzilla killed them to stop them from reproducing. The military destroyed the nest.

To capture the MUTOs, you will need 8 chains (there are 2 of them).
