Serge (dinara2015) | 60 comments I seem to remember I could add a quotation to my (non-author) profile directly from the profile page, even if the quotation was not currently in the database. Now all I can do is rearrange or delete them.

When I click "Add quote" I am taken to a database entry, not my profile. If I find an existing one I still do not see how to add it to my profile. And I may not like the wording, might prefer a shorter or a longer one for my profile.

So, please, how do I add a simple quotation to my profile, preferably without adding it to a database? After all, it might not necessarily be by an author nor from a book.

I'll just add that if the quote is not by an author the person must be considered notable. The guideline I use is that I can find them with Google or Wikipedia.

& please only add quotes - not extracts. (I've just butted in here as I am abridging some extracts now.)

Edit: All quotes go into the database. They are the property (for want of a better word) of all readers on Goodreads.
