I can't believe is has been one full year of BOOK•LIT. Here is the final review of the recommended reading!
Recommendation Index: 3 out of 5 Reading Index: 1 out of 5 Spice Index: A little bit of spice, and everything nice (3 out of 5) Reactivity Warning: Student - teacher relationship; both are consenting adults.
As a fan of Lessons in Chemistry, I thought for sure that I would love another woman scientist / romance book. And Ali Hazlewood does a really fabulous job at romanticizing science, and writing about smart women in STEAM. If you are into consenting, yet still taboo, student-teacher relationships this will certainly be a fun read for you.
Olive is a PhD student, who creates an elaborate plan to convince her best friend that she is not interested in a man that she previously went on a date with. In her attempts to keep up with the facade, she finds herself spending lots of time with a faculty member that most of her peers are not fond of.
There is nothing grand or spectacular about this book, other than the characters feel relatable.
