This is a great way to explore literature from outside of your home country. And you can find books from just about any genre!

Doni I'm thinking Dostoyevsky Reads Hegel in Siberia and Bursts into Tears translated from the Hungarian. That title alone, man!

Jen W. (piratenami) I enjoyed the first book Before the Coffee Gets Cold this year, so I might read book two, Tales from the Café.

JessicaMHR | 27 comments I used Anxious People by Fredrik Backman for this.

message 8: by Aquaria (new)

Aquaria LOL I read East Asians Studies at uni. Books in translation have been a staple of my life for a very long time now. I have dozens of books in translation to read this year, same as any other.

For this purpose, though, I'll list the first Arabic language Booker International Prize winner, Celestial Bodies by Jokha Alharthi.

Laura Z | 36 comments I read Nineteen Claws and a Black Bird by Agustina Bazterrica. ★★★

I loved Bazterrica's Tender Is the Flesh, but I found this one a little disappointing. Short stories are tough for me. I either love them or hate them.
