I wouldn't have known about this book if I hadn't seen it on ReGina's TBR list. It looks like fun and I hope we both enjoy it!

Nwanneka Chukwujiorah | 45 comments Maria and I will be reading I am Malala. She is an amazing young woman and I cannot wait to read her story

ReGina (regifabulous) | 312 comments So, Susan and I have finished Hyperbole and a Half: Unfortunate Situations, Flawed Coping Mechanisms, Mayhem, and Other Things That Happened, which was a very quick read. We both enjoyed it - I actually laughed out loud several times. The drawings also add depth to the humor. For me, I would highly recommend this book, especially when you need a laugh or two.

Nicki Cominotti (cnc198) | 26 comments Fiona and I decided to change our book to In the Blood.

message 16: by Christine (new)

Christine Peterson | 20 comments Finished Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. I would recommend reading Gone Girl, but not this book. There are too many issues and nothing happy occurs. Good twist at the end. 3 stars from me.

message 17: by Caro (new)

Caro (karopi) | 995 comments Elizabeth and I already finish Horns and we really like it. The story has an excellent narration and is easy to read it in just a couple of days. The book proves that Joe Hill has the talent of his father and can create excellent stories.

Emily~ | 62 comments Heather and I read Room. It was like nothing I have ever read before.

message 19: by Sherry (new)

Sherry (lilsherry) | 721 comments Sandra and I read The Princess Bride by William Goldman. My twin never got back to me so I'll write a review. Sorry that it is late, I was hoping she'll reply by now but it's almost a month already.

The Princess Bride by William Goldman
We both seen the movie but never read the book. I personally didn't like all the commentary's by Mr. Goldman and the little anecdotes about his life. At the end of the story it leaves off in a cliffhanger about the baby of Buttercup and Westley. I would actually like to know more about the child and how they escape the Prince's army.

In the words of another Goodread Reviewers,
"When the so called “introduction” ended and the actual Princess Bride story began... well, my enthusiasm started to decrease. The more I read the more it decreased."- Anzu The Great Destroyer

I agree with him. I had to force myself to finish reading, skipping all the anecdotes to get straight into the plot. Belatedly, I realize that some of the anecdotes actually explains the plot... some parts were rather interesting... and I did feel that Buttercup is ridiculous bitch while Westley is this wonderful hero who should not be with Buttercup... and the whole zombie thing? What the heck? I think I should re-watch the movie and hope the book didn't ruin it. I know that books are always better than the movies (I usually believe so) but sometimes the director does make the movie more amazing or just as good/or better than the book with their vision. I gave the book 3 stars for being okay/average.
