I'm not sure I buy Arcturus theory about Fletcher's parentage, it'd be too easy... And Captain Lovett!! I want her to wake up!

chapters 1-2 (view spoiler)[I like the short chapters and I want to know what would happen. Fletcher seems an ok character and Berdon seems a good person, while Didric is despicable! (hide spoiler)]

chapters 3-8 (view spoiler)[The world building seems intersting but it's vague, yet. And the book seems a little slow, But I like Rott and I hope we would see more of him! (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 1-3

chapters 20 -39 (view spoiler)[I love that we can learn more about elves and dwarves. And also about the story of their word. It's really intersting. And we can see also a lot of lesson, so I'm happy, but I'm sorry for Lovett. I hope she get well soon! (hide spoiler)]

I'm done (view spoiler)[I really do not like the ending! But for the rest I enjoyed the reading. It's really an itroductory book but I liked it anyway. I liked Fletcher, Othello and Sylvia (or it's Silvya... I don't remember, sigh!) and their demons. I liked some of the professors and despised others, like Rook. The adults that are petty as children are very a despicable thing. True but sad. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 1-2: (view spoiler)[ I think Fletcher is a good character. Also, Berdon seems like a good person. Didric is a selfish character. Hope something bad happens to him for his bad behaviour. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 3-10: (view spoiler)[ The story is getting more interesting. I do like the fact that the chapters are short, but are still able to grasp my attention. I actually really like the little demon. He reminds of the gargoyle, Xemerius, from Sapphire Blue by Kerstin Gier. Fletcher is interesting, but I wonder about how old he truly is. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 18-39: (view spoiler)[ I agree with both of you. The book does have a lot of characters, so it does get confusing at times. The book also does seem to be moving at a faster pace. I thought it was interesting to learn more about the world and elves and dwarfs. I hope Lovett is okay. (hide spoiler)]

Also, going back to the whole introductory part, i think that is because the author simply skipped parts of the story and I don't feel like anything really happened. Like the only major events that happened were that Sylvia was beaten by that one guy in town, Lovett was injured, and then the whole book seemed to lead up to the tournament which took about two-three chapters then the book ends. Thr book seems very rushed and i feel like I'm missing half the book!
But overall, I really like the world that Matharu has created and the book wasn't bad, there just seems to be a lot of irrelevant information about nothing that seemed to relate to Fletcher. But i still like it. It was entertaining enough that i kept reading ir heheh.
One thing i really liked about Fletcher was that he wasn't the best at everything or the strongest. I've read so many book where the main character is so special and is better and stronger than everyone else, so this is a nice change. (hide spoiler)]

I agree in particular about the rushed thing. Something really seem rushed and about Fletcher :)

I am starting 11 days late, but I am determined to finish this before the year ends!

Haha I migjt start tomorrow when I finish my current read but we shall see i just bought 13 books yesterday at boxing day sales so might read one of them xD
