Do any other authors get bombarded with emails and phone calls from people from book companies, and some saying they are from an entertainment industry... telling you how interested they are in your book... they make all these promises to you, telling you how wonderful your book is... offering you book deals, or movies... does anyone else have this happening to them constantly?... Mine is out of hand... every day, I get more than 1 call or an email... don't fall for it. To me, they all are scammers... What's your thoughts... and is it happening to any other authors? ... how do you deal with it?

Inc | 2 comments Sounds like they are scammers. If you're in the mood you can troll them by asking them what's their favorite part of the book lol

Joseph Patrick | 2 comments Not with my book. But I have with other things such as packaged holiday schemes and investments. They are all scammers, so I would use the same technique as with book scammers. Do not respond to them or troll them otherwise they will respond back in a tit for tat way - they are quite aggressive like that. Just block them.
I also found that they sell your details (email address and phone) numbers to other similar companies so they get money out of that too. These companies will also bombard you, because if you respond it proves you have an active account or phone number.
