I'm with Connie, I'm #1 on the hold list at my library, but sometimes it takes them awhile to get it processed. Pub date is tomorrow, so fingers crossed it's soon. No way I'm missing a new Ron Rash!

I guess we should give it a month after publication before nominations set in. Still I have hope.

@Cathrine - that sounds like a good idea, especially since so many of the group get their books from the library.
I made this my monthly pick for Audible. I have another audiobook that I need to listen to before it gets recalled but I'll definitely listen to this next month.
Yay! Mine is on "available soon" status, so maybe in a week or so. At least I'm first on the list.

I’m about where Carol is. I’ve been hesitant to comment bc I want to see where this is going as well. It’s kind of nice to just enjoy the plot.

I was able to listen to the audio version in just under three days. It was excellent. I highly recommend it. I won't say more until folks have a bit more time to get into it.

The audiobook is available on Hoopla.

Finally I got it through the Libby App, even though the "real" book is still available soon. So, I have the first chapter under my belt, and it has started off with a bang.

I just finished and this has replaced Serena as my favorite Ron Rash novel. I'll move over to final impressions now.

I'm with you Cathrine. I asked in the library and they replied "Ron who?"
So I bought a copy but it's not due to arrive for yonks.

My library has had the hardback copy on Available now for a month with no action. I finally saw it on Libby with no holds so I jumped on it. Doesn't matter when you read it, just get to it when you can.

Catherine I have had a book on hold at my library since early July - there are 3 books in my system, and they are being lent out, but it seems that being number one in the queue is not getting me anywhere. Think it it time to ask one of my librarians what the hold up may be. It has been over 4 months now.

"Thank you for your suggestion. The the caretaker has been added to our next order. Adding the item may take 6-8 weeks."
