Pages: 431 pages

Length: 1 month (October)

Participants: Kristy, Lorraine

Everyone reads at their own pace during a Buddy Read. Because participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, it is extremely important to mark spoilers so that the book is not ruined for someone who is not as far along as others!!!

Mark spoilers by placing {spoiler} before the text and {/spoiler} after the text but use the < and > instead of the { and }.

Lorraine | 2385 comments Hi Kristy. Hope you had a nice vacation. I started the book today as we were stuck in an airport waiting for a delayed flight. I am at Chapter 5. Quite interesting so far.

Kristy Johnston | 608 comments It was fantastic! I'll try to start this one as soon as I finish the one I started today. Hope your trip is going well except for the flight delays. We had a few of those both on the way and on the way back.

Kristy Johnston | 608 comments You're probably done already but I started this one yesterday. Hope you're traveling is going better. I'm on Chapter 5 now. Funny that we’re reading a book about ancient druids in October. I’m curious about the GMO story and what all the killing’s about.

Lorraine | 2385 comments We are back since Sunday. The flight from Austin to Atlanta was really late but it went well after that. Unfortunately I am not well since our return, so I do a lot of sleeping and little bit of reading. I am on chapter 15. I really like this book so far. I remember being excited when I saw the description: ancient druids, Celtic kings, Norway and Vikings! My kind of things! And this time I am interested in the scientific part of the story: not enough food for the too many people on the planet...and Club de Rome. I remeber some university teacher talking about this in one of my course (either the statistic course and the one about social psychology) and I was impressed.

Kristy Johnston | 608 comments Sorry you've been under the weather. Hope you feel better soon.

I have reached Part 2 Ch. 12. I've been kind of laughing at Pierce being in France stuck with both Rachel and Seichan. The motorcycle chase was fun.

Lorraine | 2385 comments I am getting better. Thanks.
I have finished the book. Wow! My favorite so far. I found the story really actual in 2009. The growing of population and the food availability is quite a concern for the science people right now. I also liked the fact that Pierce is caught between Rachel and Seichan. Not sure we have seen the end of that story. On that subject, I have a question for you but just when you finish the book! I do not want to influence your impressions by asking my question now.
