Here are your challenge questions...

GREED—What is your most inexpensive book? What is your least expensive book?

WRATH—What author do you have a love/hate relationship with?

GLUTTONY—What book have you deliciously devoured over and over with no shame whatsoever?

SLOTH—What book have you neglected reading due to laziness?

PRIDE—What book do you most talk about in order to sound like a very intellectual reader?

LUST—What attributes do you find most attractive in male or female characters?

ENVY—What books would you most like to receive as a gift?

Don't forget to check in for Hour 3. We'll be kickin' it old school and takin' it back to the playground!

To give credit where credit is due ('cause yeah, I'm not that creative) this was adopted from a Book Tag by BookTuber BookishlyMalyza.

Patricia (tricia_nelson) Here are your challenge questions...

GREED—What is your most inexpensive book? What is your least expensive book? Not sure. Least expensive is probably one of my kindle books that was free. Most valuable book to me is probably my bible.

WRATH—What author do you have a love/hate relationship with? Stephen King. Love his stuff, but hated the ending of It enough that I didn't read his work for many years.

GLUTTONY—What book have you deliciously devoured over and over with no shame whatsoever? Probably the Harry Potter series.

SLOTH—What book have you neglected reading due to laziness? Gotham. Got this book for Christmas last year and I've not picked it up yet.

PRIDE—What book do you most talk about in order to sound like a very intellectual reader? Not sure about this one.

LUST—What attributes do you find most attractive in male or female characters? I like relatable characters or characters that challenge my assumptions.

ENVY—What books would you most like to receive as a gift? Anything on my Goodreads list!

message 4: by Adriana (last edited Mar 20, 2015 07:27PM) (new)

Adriana Pereira (adrianacecilia) I absolutely love this!!!

GREED - (English is not my first language but shouldn't it be "most expensive"? Or is it supposed to be the same question, or some word play I'm not getting? Anyway, I'll edit my answer later if necessary :)) I think the least expensive books I have are a few that I got last summer in a book "flea market" (I'm not sure if that the correct expression) for 1€ each! Their all secondhand detective fiction books that were published in the 50s. Two of them are from Ellery Queen, one from Dorothy L. Sayers, one from Rex Stout and one from Frederic Dard. The one I think I spend the most money on (though I don't remember how much) was a beautiful hardcover edition of The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe.

WRATH - I have no idea. I feel incredibly sad knowing that when I finish The Castle there won't be anything new left for me to read from Franz Kafka but I wouldn't call it a love/hate relationship.

GLUTTONY - I don't think I have re-read any book so far (I have a few on my list for this year) but I do pick up Invisible Monsters once in a while, open on a random page and just read it.

SLOTH - War and Peace. But I will, one day!

PRIDE - When talking to other book lovers I'll probably share my love for Dostoevsky or Kafka but not really to sound intellectual, just to see if they like it too. Usually when talking with people who don't like books or don't read much I just keep my mouth shut.

LUST - I have no idea honestly. Never really thought about that.

ENVY - Pretty hardcover books of my favorite books/authors.

LUST—What attributes do you find most attractive in male or female characters?

Holli | 30 comments GREED—What is your most expensive book? What is your least expensive book?

For the year, so far, my most expensive is the bind up of the first 3 Dark-Hunter books. Bought with a gift card, but still...

Least expensive would be all my Kindle freebies.

WRATH—What author do you have a love/hate relationship with?

Brandon Sanderson. Not hate exactly as he seems like a fun person. But I just didn't like Steelheart or The Rhithmatist to the point I couldn't finish either. But I loved Elantris.

GLUTTONY—What book have you deliciously devoured over and over with no shame whatsoever?

Dark Callings by Elizabeth Jewell (first gay romance I ever read)

Act of Valor by Dick Couch and George Galdorisi (love the book and the movie)

SLOTH—What book have you neglected reading due to laziness?

Just look at my TBR list. Pretty much all of them.

PRIDE—What book do you most talk about in order to sound like a very intellectual reader?

I don't think I do this actually.

LUST—What attributes do you find most attractive in male or female characters?

Honor, courage, loyalty, ability to beat the crap out of someone if the need arises; make me walk into walls picturing him.

ENVY—What books would you most like to receive as a gift?

* Act of Valor in hardcover if it existed.
* A journal that didn't have preferated pages, has lots of pages period, and didn't weigh a ton.

Jenny (pagelady) | 155 comments Gotta love Ryan!!

GREED—What is your most inexpensive book? What is your least expensive book? I guess my least expensive books are ones I've picked up at yard sales and in secondhand stores. I have one such copy of Silas Marner that was published in 1898! I love finds like that.

WRATH—What author do you have a love/hate relationship with? Adriana Trigiani. She has made a fortune off the little town of Big Stone Gap in the Appalachian Mountains, but was most unsuccessful in sharing the rich heritage of the mountains with the rest of the world. Just used them to write a shallow story with flippant characters. Grrrrrr. We have so much more to offer!!

GLUTTONY—What book have you deliciously devoured over and over with no shame whatsoever? Katie John - a childhood favorite

SLOTH—What book have you neglected reading due to laziness? The Bible - firm believer but have never read it all the way through. Ugh.

PRIDE—What book do you most talk about in order to sound like a very intellectual reader? Whatever I can find in common with the intellectual person I'm speaking to.

LUST—What attributes do you find most attractive in male or female characters? Women who rise above oppression of some sort to become successful. Inspiring. Men who are kind and wise.

ENVY—What books would you most like to receive as a gift? Autographed copies of stories I love, or books published by people I know. I know a few people who strive to write a great novel and long to be published. To hold their published manuscript that they have just placed in my hand would cause me to celebrate on the spot!

Sophie (sawphie) GREED—I got loads of free ebooks on my ereader, but the least expensive I actually bought was from a thrift store, for maybe the equivalent of $1. Sadly I don’t remember which book it was and I probably gave it away during my last bookshelves purge.

WRATH—Probably Émile Zola. A read a few of his books for school and didn’t like them very much, but he’s one of my mum’s favorite authors, so she convinced me to read others for myself. On one hand I love the stories he created and the way he presented them, but on the other hand I hate how his stories always end up in the worst possible way! I never actually finished The Masterpiece because I liked the book and didn’t want to see how badly it would end.

GLUTTONY—I think it’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. When it came out, I carried the book everywhere with me and read random parts when I had time.

SLOTH—I started Crime and Punishment last year but was never able to finish it. Too many other amazing books to discover, blah blah blah. I’ll definitely try to finish it for the last week of this challenge!

PRIDE—I love Bernard Werber work, he’s a french author mixing fiction with very interesting facts (science, history, etymology, …) linked to the story he’s telling (or not). The extracts from his L'Encyclopédie du savoir relatif et absolu (Encyclopaedia for Relative and Absolute Knowledge) that fill his books are perfect conversation starters, but I have to admit I can never remember a lot of them.

LUST—I love anti-conformism and characters that defy authority.

ENVY—I have my eyes set on a beautiful illustrated edition of The Lord of the Rings. I’m not very careful with my books, I like them looking like they lived, so If I got this edition, I would probably never actually read it, but just having a beautiful object on my bookshelf I can touch and flip though would make me very happy.

GREED—I've free ebooks and gifted books for the inexpensive ones and I think my most expensive is The Annotated Peter Pan.

WRATH—Maybe Stephen King. He drives me crazy with love when he writes fantasy and I found his later books pretty boring.

GLUTTONY—The Death Gate Cycle. I'm currently on the 5 re-read maybe, since 2000 (I didn't count).

SLOTH—Photography books. I look at the photos but I usually don't read all the text :p

PRIDE—Hey, you know, I read Lord of the Rings trilogy when I was 12 years old.

LUST—Gentle character, the ones who help just because it's in their nature, not for a reward. Let's say, the characters from the Michael J. Sullivan's books. I like too when a "bad guy" becomes a nice one and I prefer humorous characters.

ENVY—Beautiful editions and children picture books.
