I hope you get your books soon. The Dark Tower Series is my favourite. Having read The Wind Through The Keyhole (between 4 and 5) I will be reading it again but I plan to do them all in order. Happy reading to you and everyone..

I love the series to bits I get transported inside the books every time I read them. Whenever I see a post about the DT series I want to read them all again. Long days and pleasant nights.. :)

It should have been called "Covid, Vaccinations, and Black People"

You may have missed it because it wasn't out yet. The seven-book series finished in 2004, then, 8 years later, came this Volume 4.5.

Even considering the aspects of Holly you didn't care for, you might not want to abandon King because of one book. His upcoming short story collection could still be quite good.
If you ignored the "bad" parts of Holly, was there still a story there for you?

It's been the last several books for me, and Holly was the tip of the Iceberg on his constant covid+BLM rhetoric that I can't stand.
I won't write King off completely, but I will definitely be hesitant on reading his future novels. If he leaves out his constant political and moral views then I will return to reading his work. I've read all of his novels throughout the years and he has never been this bad with his liberal views. Even if he was conservative I wouldn't want to read about it. I read fiction for exactly that reason. Fiction!! Something that Koontz still does wonderfully.
There wasn't much of a story in Holly for me because it was plagued every other sentence with his views, so half of the novel was non existent for me. BUT, I did like what I read of the story and characters when it was purely fiction. I loved the villains the most. Rodney and Emily Harris were perfect.

I tend to just dive in and enjoy the characters and the story wherever it takes me. The DT series is my favourite and I plan to re-read it again soon.

It’s a stand alone book that can be read anywhere. Having said that is goes between book 4 and 5. Wizard and Glass and Wolves of The Calla. Hope this helps a bit.. :)

Kellie's right. It doesn't impact the rest of the story and can go anywhere. But I suppose it would help to know Jake, the Bumbler, and the rest of the Katet. So maybe best after book 2.

I’ll finish this one eventually but it’ll take me another month. 2/5 stars.

I will say that (view spoiler)

I have finished my reading of our monthly assigned book - "The Dark Tower; The Wind Through the Keyhole". My review is posted in the following link:

To great reading, and best wishes until next month,

I think you hit all the problems with the stories within stories very well. Wasn't the story about the little boy saving his mother supposed to be a standard that mothers of the time read to their kids? If so it was a pretty rough tale, a mother marries an abusive husband who almost blinds her and her son has to exercise great self-control and heroism to save her. Good writing but the essence of the story seems out of line.

I’m a huge fan of the DT series and love how they intertwine and echo with King’s other books.
In this book I loved (view spoiler) and this is my favourite of the stories King has written that intertwine between the DT novels.
I hope new readers enjoy this as much as I did, happy reading!
