Shavetails and Bell Sharps: The History of the U.S. Army Mule

Emmett M. Essin
The first part discusses the war with Mexico in 1846-1848. Mules were needed to pull pack wagons and to carry supplies. But the US Army was used of wagons and items needed to be repackaged to be carried on mules. I actually was laughing at some of the stuff in the early part of the chapter... The naughty mule carrying tent poles got the poles jammed on young trees.... 🤣🤣🤣 No doubt he started braying too then!
Never dreamed I would laugh at this dense book!
I am almost 1/4 through it...

The Poison Eaters

Gail Jarrow
This is nonfiction about Harvey Wiley's quest to keep our food and drugs clean of toxic ingredients and stuff not listed on the label (during the Roosevelt and Taft presidency). I am 50 percent through this.
Then I will read:
One Golden Summer

For Non-Fiction,

This Exposes to me a Gap in Feminism where only Elite, White, Educated Women get a Voice. Keeley as she grows and goes through hard events starts identifying as a Feminist. I like this book more than I expected. Recommend

I am also reading The Eye of the World. I just started, I haven't even finished the prologue yet, so we will see how this goes from here on out.
