by Kristen Ashley

Ratings: 5/5 ⭐

Kristen Ashley is an amazing author and her books, her writing, her way of pulling in readers attention, her storytelling, are equally amazing.
This book simply blew my mind. The mystery was true and held my attention till the end.

A must read!!

Dee Turner | 17 comments Poor Things, by Alisdair Gray. Written in the 1990s but set in Victorian England, this book is a wild satire poking fun at misogyny and hypocritical religiosity, similar (imho) to the writings of Mikhail Bulgakov (The Master and Margharita, Notes of a Young Country Doctor.)

Steven Fraser West of Eden by Harry Harrison
Super cool book, I'm close to finishing it.
Alternate history story where a race of dinosaur people took our place as the dominant species in a world where the dinosaurs were never killed off, humans evolved alongside them but are way more primitive.

The culture of the dinosaur people is so fascinating, not at any point does it ever feel like they're just humans or that the book is preaching about how humans are bad and the Yilané are not due to their "harmony" with nature. Anything but when you dig in to it. Crazy how in depth the author went to the point of creating an entire language for the Yilané even though it's more movement based than voice. I think it's a trilogy so I'll definitely be checking out reviews of the others and probably buying them.

Shareen Khan | 7 comments The Quantum Chain by Nick Jones
- Sci-Fi
- Time-travelling
- #4 in the Joseph Bridgeman series
- A minuscule romance plot but mainly action/adventure with hints of comedic dialogue!
- The writing style is easy to read!
