Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Hiya, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo!

Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
2a ~ Create a master list in a post (preferably on the first page of your team's thread) and update it weekly or as often as necessary
2b ~ Post your team's stats on the Captain's Log prior to requesting a stamp
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week
4a ~ Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game

I'm here! I can do captain if no one else can.

I suck at names, but I'm really good at voting on name suggestions. Any suggestions?

Lisa P | 574 comments Hi Laura, I am fine with you being captain, Thanks. I have played quite a few times, but it has been a really long while since my last time.

I suck at names too, but will throw out a couple. "The Two Crew" or "Double Booked". Hopefully Tatenisha will have some name suggestions as well.

I've really missed playing bingo, so I'm really looking forward to this. I'm from NC by the way.

We have the Country Bookshop in downtown Southern Pines which is right next door to Pinehurst. That might have been a part of your book crawl.

Laura | 1168 comments Shelf #1 ~ 8 May: O - "Outside" or oracle
Requirement: Choose a book using one of the following options ...

* For "Outside", read a book with author's first or last name beginning with 'O', a cover with outside image (ie: trees, buildings, vehicles, etc) or 'outside' in title or series name

* For oracle, read a book found on one of these shelves: GR oracle, GR oracles* or SOS oracle

*This is not the link that was in the shelf announcement. I believe that link contained an error as it linked to a shelf title Half Oracle, with 0 books on it. I posted in the Discussion thread, but I could be mistaken, so please verify by checking that thread before selecting a book from here.

Review: I did enjoy this one. Is it great literature? No. Is it an enjoyable escape? Yes. Is it strikingly similar to her Supernaturals of Castle Academy series? Yes. And I assume her other series probably run along the same lines. But it accomplished the main goal of fantasy literature. It gave me a bit of an escape, and a bit of enjoyment. And that's really all I ask of my books.

Review: This book was a bit darker than the others in the series, but I still enjoyed it. I wouldn't say it was my favorite of the series, but a good read nonetheless. Richard and Charlotte were another great love addition to this series, and I did enjoy the healer/destroyer aspect; but I especially enjoyed the inclusion of Jack and George again. They are two of my favorites from this series, and I enjoyed learning even more about their lives here, and seeing how they have grown up. I am very sad that this is the last book of the series, as there is so much more that could be told here. The world is amazing, and I keep hoping that Ilona Andrews will revisit it again someday.

Laura | 1168 comments I'm changing my Free Space book. I recently learned that Sabriel is narrated by Tim Curry, so I rushed to my library app to download that as soon as I could. It's on the SOS read shelf and the SOS Fantasy shelf, so I'm going to save Archangel's Lineage for another shelf.

Review: I've seen this book read by many of my GRs friends, but I never got around to adding it to my TBR. Until I heard that Tim Curry was the narrator. I was a bit disappointed, because he didn't sound like his Clue character, but seriously, his narration was well done. The book itself seemed a little bit simplistic, even though the world is quite complex. Overall, I enjoyed it and I will eventually read the next one.

Laura | 1168 comments Not sure what I'm going to do yet. I'm about to start Lake Silence again, but I don't want to use it for my one re-read when I have so many options here.

I know I have at least one Elizabeth Hunter book I haven't caught up on yet, so I'll probably do that. I'm sure those are shelved Vampires.

ETA: Archangel's Lineage is MPG Vampires, so I'll go with that one.

Review: I'm hooked! Two people dream about each other their entire lives, but have never met before...until they do. How could they possibly know what they know about each other? Intimate details about each others lives? Soulmates? The story unfolds beautifully as it switches back and forth from each of their perspectives, past and present. We continually learn more and more about their lives, bit by bit as the story progresses; and at the same time wonder how this could possibly be. I don't want to say too much, as the best part of this story is watching it unfold slowly while trying to unravel the mystery. The only downside to this book is that it doesn't end. There is no final absolute solution to this mystery. The story continues with so much left to reveal. I will definitely be going on the the next book in this series.

Review:
This is one of those books that you know from the beginning its full of drama and it does not disappoint. The dynamics of the relationships is crazy and it just gets crazier. You may want to put it down but you just have to see what crazy will be next. It was really hard to find the right correct words to review this one because four damaged people turning to each other is a lot.

Review: I do enjoy a good time-travel book on occasion. But most of the ones I read are romance based, and follow a similar recipe of modern day girl traveling back in time, finding the love of her life, and living happily ever after. Well, this book was NOT that, lol. There is some romance in this one, and although important to the story, it is not the main storyline. I love a bit of science and adventure, and this book has both. About halfway through the book I was a bit disappointed because I thought that I already knew how the book would end. I thought it was a bit predictable. Well, I was WRONG and I thoroughly enjoyed the actual ending!

Lisa P | 574 comments LOL, you just sent me down a rabbit hole with this post. I read most of the original Black Dagger Brotherhood series quite a few years ago and really enjoyed them. For some reason, J.R. Ward dropped off my radar and I haven't read much of her since then. I tried her Bourbon Kings series but wasn't much of a fan. I knew that she had written at least one spinoff to the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, but never ventured into reading them. When I saw your post with another spinoff I have never heard of, Prison Camp, it piqued my interest again. So thanks, I need to get back to this author again soon.

Review: I really enjoy this series. The relationship between Emily and Wendell is wonderful. And her commitment to figuring out the puzzle that has been laid in front of her is great to read about. I wasn't to thrilled with her relationship with her niece in this one. She doesn't come across as super loving. But that is her personality, and the scene where she does apologize is sweet. I really can't wait for the next one!
