We ask all members to come to this folder and post Your Book Recommendations. It can be a book that has captured your heart, one of your all type favourites or one that you just could not put down. It can a book of any genre.

This is a great place to discover new reads, discuss them with those who have experienced them already or rekindle with the books you have loved.

Let the recommendations begin!

I totally agree with you there except I have not read The Tied Man. What's that about?

Aly | 20 comments A little something different I could not put down! Last September my best friend was visiting from Utah and naturally we went to barns & noble (it is our home away from home) she picked out a few books and said she wanted one more. I randomly saw A little something different and said here get this. She loved it, I read it a few months later and loved it. It's super cute, fun, and silly.

James Loftus Well I wrote a book once, can I recommend it, I thought it was pretty good so yes, Celtic Blood

The exciting historical action/adventure novel Celtic Blood is currently 0.98 on Amazon Kindle, link below.

http://www.amazon.com/Celtic-Blood-Ja...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggy-p...

Celtic Blood
All who dare come ye hither into the dark woods where danger lies. The theme of dangers lurking in the greenery is ancestral, and species long, it scares us and fascinates us both. Come with me and enter the woods. A boy once his father is murdered seeks escape amongst the wilds riding deeper and deeper into the emerald green forest. He is the son of a noble Earl, the great-grandson of a king furthermore marked for death. He is the last of his line and alone in the trees bar for one retainer who has forsaken him not. A forest has haunting power. You need God's power and protection in the shadows. And in the deep dark mysterious forest shadows nothing, nothing, protects you. All who dare enter Celtic Blood: A world of mythology and witchcraft.

Phoenix2 | 69 comments Those are all great recs!! I think Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1) by Leigh Bardugo
Insanity (Mad in Wonderland) (Insanity #1) by Cameron Jace The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer are some coming in mind that I've gave 4 stars and more

message 23: by Katelyn (new)

Katelyn Lee (kk1372) Other than the February BOTM I recommend Shadow and bone by Leigh Bardugo, otherwise known as the Grisha trilogy! I was hooked from the very first chapter and it was a very wild ride. Just when you think you've got it figured out you realize how very wrong you were! On top of that her new series Six of Crows, set in the grisha world, is just top notch! You can't help but love the main character Kaz. He's ruthless, intelligent and an all around told bad ass. Like the grisha trilogy, you never can quite guess what is going to happen in Six of Crows. These books really do keep you on the edge of your seat !

So is it better to read the Grisha trilogy first to get a sense of the Grisha world before diving into Six of Crows?

message 25: by Katelyn (new)

Katelyn Lee (kk1372) Not sure how to reply with the quote box..

But yes! I would read the grisha trilogy first. It will help you understand why their world is the way it is. Six of crows takes place several years after the grisha trilogy and it might be a tad confusing if you read it first. :)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1075 comments Its the time of year where I pick my favorite reads of the year. The last few years, I divide it up by genres. This year I'm dedicating my BookTube channel to the task, and will have videos for the next few weeks. I'll leave the links here, so check it out if you want to!

My first one I did was actually a topic from Monthly Recommendations, a Goodreads group started by 2 BookTubers. December's topic was Favorite New-to-You Authors in 2016. These could be 2016 debut authors, or just new authors you tried. I did a combination of both!

message 49: by Bree (new)

Bree (breesc23) I read the Six of Crows duology and haven't read the other series yet, so I think you'll be fine. If anything, it'll make you want to go back and read that series. I've seen many reviewers who read 6oC and said they didn't like or couldn't finish the Grisha trilogy.

Anywho, I recommend The Queen of Blood The Queen of Blood (The Queens of Renthia, #1) by Sarah Beth Durst by Sarah Beth Durst. Yet another book where people who didn't like her standalone, Vessel Vessel by Sarah Beth Durst have enjoyed this one better. I loved both!
