The plot of this book sounds great. Developer Harris Lang is paying to create an island where myths like dragons and unicorns come true. Unfortunately one of the developers has set up a force field over the entire island and members of the Coast Guard were killed when running into the force field. Addie Cox dated the man suspected of creating the force field so she's hired to infiltrate the island with a group of mercenaries. One main problem I had is that there are a ton of plot points that don't make sense. (view spoiler)[The guy who created the force field doesn't have access to the main island controls so how did he set up the force field in the first place? The main tower is protected by a lot of deadly creatures but no one on the development team built them so how did they get there? The location of the master key is just stupid. Why on earth is everyone on the island living on like they actually are dwarves or elves after being cut off from everything? (hide spoiler)] Then there is the main character who is too stupid to live. The team leader Torres tells her they don't know what's in store so she shouldn't wander off or touch strange things. So what does she do over and over again, wander off and touch things that get her into trouble. I can't even count how many dumb decisions she made. I so wanted someone to tie her to a tree or something so she'd stop getting everyone in danger.
