Now I need to catch up on all the reviews I have not written because I was too busy reading the books and didn't have time to write about them!

Thanks Carolyn. I just need someone to write my reviews now

My final total for 2023 is 385 (which I'm happy about) but with 2022 and 2021 at 407, I have some catching up to do this year!!

That's incredible, Brenda. Well done! That's what, 1,172 books in 3 years? Amazing!

I think you're probably right - and I can think of some things!

That's always the problem, isn't it! At least you're good at writing those wonderful short reviews that capture all you need to say :)

That's very kind of you to say Carolyn!!!

Yes it is very annoying. It used to give me a shortcut to rating and reviewing so I have had to find a whole new way to get there.

Yes very annoying. I see it’s back to normal now, Phrynne 😃

So it is. Thank goodness.

So it is. Thank goodness.

Still too many books, but I use it like a library to find books for challenges so I kept anything that might be useful for that in the future.

I tried to be ruthless, although a lot of books sneaked in that probably shouldn't have!

Great work Carolyn! 900 removed is pretty awesome! My problem is that my TBR shelf is all books I own!! Some I've removed in the past, and given them to my son and family who get a credit for them to buy more. But it's hard because "I might read this one, one day", seems to be the refrain!!!

An impressive effort! I'm determined to do the same but somehow it still grows ...

I've kept all the unread books I own in the list as I do hope to read them one day! They're mostly on my kindle these days.

I try to do it every year and mainly remove the ones that have been there for years that I've less interest in now. And the list is bound to grow again soon as it's so easy to click 'want to read' when you read a great review!

Good on you Carolyn. Well done. Mine is just under 1500. But few are books I own. Rely heavily on the library.

I've noticed this happen a few times before before when books I've added to my tbr list are somehow marked as read and thought I must just have clicked the wrong shelf.
Anyway I decided to check my 'read shelf' looking for books that had no rating and I found 720 books 'Read' but not rated, none of which I have read. I'm really puzzled by this, so wondered if anyone else has noticed this happening?
Needless to say my tbr is going to be back up to 2000 by the time I sort this out!!!
Oh no Carolyn! I've had that happen occasionally but nothing like that volume! I always felt it was how I clicked "want to read" and GR sent it straight to "read". Could be wrong and it could well be "another" glitch! I hope you can sort it - 720 is mind boggling!
Our next Sydney get together date is chosen and the thread created. If anyone in the vicinity is interested in coming along, click on the link and put your name down :) We always have lots of fun and come home with at least one new book :)

A few times when I’ve created a book or added a new edition, it has been added to my Read shelf automatically. I always discover it reasonably quickly though.

Have fun all.

That’s what I thought too Brenda - but 720 times seems too much to be a glitch. I’ll have to be a lot more vigilant!

I own some of them on my kindle, a few in paperback, but some are just ones I clicked on as ones I might want to read in case I see that at the library or a book fair. I'm still puzzled as to how it happened (and hope it stops!)
The other thing I've noticed (sorry if this is getting boring for everyone else!) is that my Read +To be Read shelves have around 5000 books on them but my total library is over 8000. What (and where) are the extra 3000 books?

My all shelf shows more books than I actually have on that shelf if you multiply the number of pages by how many books on each page.
If I do your calculation Carolyn I have 2569 books unaccounted for. I think we have to accept that the 'all' shelf is a mystery which we will probably never explain.

I think Phrynne is right! I haven't checked mine (don't think I will after all your comments!) but can believe GR and the glitches that are ongoing...

Arrgh it bothers me so much when I notice those ones, but to have to deal with so many Carolyn sounds very painful!
