I have just seen in another group that there's a spam going around - their words:

FYI: I noticed in another GR group that friend requests and emails from David Baldacci are going around. It is a scam. He is asking for addresses and other information.

Be wary :)

I got that one!!! It is an obvious scam because at the top he spells his name Baldacchi. I just marked it ignored.
Can't understand why anyone would bother doing it - he has set up the whole page using Baldacci's photo and info. Wierd.

Such a nice couple aren't they Marianne:) On Monday I was very impressed by Anne's knowledge of mental health. And I loved the way Graeme cruised round all of the tables chatting (and encouraging people to buy the book!!!) The interviewer was rather impressive too.

I think whoever has done it has checked for fans of the author first. Unfortunately there would be people who clicked on the link :(

I went to one of their library talks earlier this week. They were such an interesting couple to listen to.

My plan was to go back and read their earlier books first (individual and duo) but I picked up The Glass House because they really sold it to me.

Oh, that is very sad Patty! One of my favourite writers too. At least he got to see the first of the Shardlake books made into a TV series, released yesterday on Disney according to the article so hopefully he got to see the final product.

The stupidity of Amazon! I posted my review for At the Going Down of the Sun a few days ago, only to receive an email to say they couldn't accept it. Of course they didn't say why, just what it could be. So I read through and came across the word Fokkers - describing the first German planes in WWI - which I thought EVERYONE would know! I changed the word to 'aircraft' and it's gone through!!!!

That says all you need to know about what happens when machines are doing the checking instead of humans. It can only get worse.

I have been several times. I really enjoyed it, and met all kinds of really nice people. Found some new authors to enjoy too!

Thanks for the feedback, Leonie! I did finally see their program, and they look like they have some good stuff but not quite enough that interests me for the ticket price. I might check it out next year.

I gather this year is a reboot after the chaos of the Covid lockdown years. May take things a little while to get back into gear.
