Alex Temblador
4/5
Writing an Identity Not Your Own: A Guide for Creative Writers

2.5 stars. It was so boring, and I didn't care about the characters. It could have been my mood though.

I rated it four stars: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A likable main character, a good plot and deliciously dark.

Guillermo del Toro
4 star vampire lore from the man who gave us Pan's Labyrinth and Shape of Water. The movies.
Solid start to a trilogy.

Not unlike tasty Jason B, he was just trying to do the right thing!
"Nobody does the right thing."
Unlike tasty Jason B, he only survives because his friends come to his rescue.
Unlike tasty JB, he has a fair few very interesting friends.

In my opinion, Nobel Laureate Venki Ramakrishnan's book on the human species' preoccupation with immortality is perhaps the most profound book written in recent times. It will appeal to the scientific mind and the common book-lover equally.
