This was a magnificent book, 5-6stars. Those older women in my book group know their stuff.

1.5 stars
honestly it was just boring, not much happened and the whole time you're left wondering what the hell is going on. The characters felt flat and one-dimensional, especially Sonya. I get that it's meant to be a look into the mind of a criminal, but it really wasn't even that. There were two main things that could be happening: actual events happening to the characters, or people talking. The conversations were drawn out and didn't do much to further the plot, and often times they took 20 pages to say something that could have been said in 5. Overall just a boring book.

5/5 stars, I personally loved the history textbook style writing and the story. It was nice to see House Targaryen at its prime. I recommend it if you enjoy ASOIAF

5 Stars
I thought it was fantastic. It kept me interested and I still think about it a few weeks later.
