Nat | 139 comments Last one I read was Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly 4/5 stars. Fantastic history and you can see the passion she had for the topic but not well executed. It is not a story that can be summed up in 300 pages. Leaves you wanting more.

Teresa | 14 comments Wish it were a more "solid" book, but it sure was satisfying - November 9 Colleen Hoover. and it was a 4.25 for me. An easy fun love story with nice twists.

message 2259: by Mike's Bookshelf (new)

Mike's Bookshelf | 29 comments Crime and Punishment - Fyodor Dostoyevsky
1.5 stars
honestly it was just boring, not much happened and the whole time you're left wondering what the hell is going on. The characters felt flat and one-dimensional, especially Sonya. I get that it's meant to be a look into the mind of a criminal, but it really wasn't even that. There were two main things that could be happening: actual events happening to the characters, or people talking. The conversations were drawn out and didn't do much to further the plot, and often times they took 20 pages to say something that could have been said in 5. Overall just a boring book.
