Do you have a schedule for the readathon? Do you start early? (before the RAT officially starts) Do you continue after the official end time? Do you sleep?

I started at 11 pm CST last night, and I plan to go through maybe noon CST tomorrow. I do sleep, if I don't I'm a wreck for a week plus, and at the moment, with my health issues I've been chronically sleep-deprived, so I don't think it'd be good to make it worse.

Ann A (readerann) | 867 comments I don't start early, but I typically sleep 3-4 hours near the beginning and/or end of the readathon. Luckily, I don't require a lot of sleep so this isn't as hard for me as it is for some people!

It will be interesting to see if anyone responds who doesn't sleep at all! If so, I'll bet they're youngsters. :)

Rebecka (hoppeduponbooks) | 178 comments Today I started 1 hour late because I had some things to do before the readathon. I do sleep and I usually read a bit after the readathon is over. I sometimes wished the readathon would be for a weekend like read 24 hours in 48 hours. I often get readathon blues and feel sad that it is over. It is just the best. :)

Vanessa Dargain | 503 comments I generally start early and continue past the official end time because I'm do pumped to read . I try to read at least until midnight , 1AM if I can . Then I crash .
For some reason it's more easy for me to read past midnight during the summer Readathon than the winter one .

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 2454 comments I prep food and snacks the day before and try to wake up an hour before. I always sleep. I love sleep too much. I don't necessarily continue keeping track but I of course, always keep reading the next day!

Catsalive | 182 comments I have no real plan & do sleep. When I was younger I could have read for 24 hours straight but not now.

Finished my 2nd book this hour - Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews

Vicki Willis | 510 comments My readathon starts at 5am which is my normal getting up time. So the first half usually goes really well.
I end up getting in bed with a book a little later than usual and falling asleep.
I usually try to get up and read the last hour, but sometimes I can't wake back up.
There is no way I can stay up for the whole 24. The closest I ever got was 3 one hour naps along the way.

Sounds like we all sleep at least some!

Susy (susysstories) | 2288 comments It starts at 2pm for me which I find ideal. I read until midnight / 1am and then sleep for about 5-5.30 hours. Then I'm fit for the final stretch. Would not go without sleep, it's too important for my health!

I agree. I tried to sleep but due to health issues was unable. I did get a 2hr nap this afternoon and I know it'll be an early to bed night tonight!
