Rudi Reads (rudichica) | 62 comments I am gradually beginning this book and I am struggling to get into it. I am only at Scene 3. I think I need help organizing the characters in my head. LUL

Also, just finished Fourth Wing, so I think my realistic pacing for a book is off. Like I've forgotten what good writing looks like. LOL

Robin | 13 comments wow there is A LOT of dialogue straight from Shakespeare plays in this book! lol

Truly

Christelle (chriistellee18) | 1 comments I've had this on my TBR for actual years and finally got around to it this month. I think my expectations may have been too high because I thought I'd be obsessed but it was just okay lol.
The constant quoting of Shakespeare was a real pain by the end.

Maixpaix I loved the story, but I agree about the Shakespeare quotes, it was a pain after a while. It was cleverly done, I'm sure, but I just wasn't in the right headspace to analyze the significance of the quotes.

I have been thinking about the book a lot, though, and I think at some point I'll read it again more thoroughly.

Rudi Reads (rudichica) | 62 comments I, unfortunately, marked it as a DNF. I do not think I am in the headspace for it. I may pick it up again in the future but no plans as of yet to do that.

Robin | 13 comments i definitely struggled a bit to read this, but i did finish finally. what is sad is the mystery part and friendships/ relationships parts of the story was actually good. i would have enjoyed it more if there wasnt quite as much focus on all of the plays they were performing. i get that part sometimes tied together with things that were also going on in the book at times, but didnt need so much dialogue from each play.

I agree that there is a lot of Shakespearean quotes, but I found it very helpful to listen to the audiobook specifically for that aspect of the book. I liked the book, but it definitely wasn't what I was expecting! Looking forward to reading the other books for this month!!!

I almost DNF'd this one. I stuck it out and the ending saved it for me. The first 75% for me was just boring and drawn out and lots of Shakespeare. In the end because of the end lol I gave it 3 stars.

Quinty (Taylor's Version) (queenq) | 589 comments I think I would've enjoyed this book a lot more if I actually was immersed in Shakespeare. As it stood, it just dragged a lot. The writing style was a nice one though, I read it quite quickly (quicker than I was expecting). And the ending saved it for me, so ended up 4 stars, but only barely

Wessa Herondale | 1 comments I actually read this last month and rated it 4 stars. I enjoyed how it had the layout of a play and the Shakespeare did drag on after a while but the way it was incorporated with the story made so much sense. I think my only thing against the book was shadowing James and Oliver's relationship/dynamics in favour of Meredith and Oliver when their feelings never even seemed to scratch the surface of being in love. Other than that, I really enjoyed this.

Jaime Hay (jaimehay) | 1 comments This has been a slow read for me. I am halfway through and now the month is over! I have picked up and finished a couple of other books in the meantime. I will slowly, but surely finish it up.
