Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

I just finished reading this book (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...) and it says it doesn't meet catalog guidelines. Can anyone elaborate why that it? It doesn't fit the criteria listed on the help page about catalog guidelines, e.g. magazine, online only, ephemera type of work. Thank you.

Hi Matt One of the MadBots marked this as invalid. I've set it to Public & made some other corrections.

World Cat has the page numbers as 1104. Could you check your copy? Please note we don't count pages with Roman numerals, advertising materials or blank pages right at the end.

Please allow at least half an hour for the changes to take effect, much longer if you are using the app.

Thank you. I just checked my physical copy and the last numbered page is 1104, not 1120.

Are there any pages after the last numbered one.

There are two pages with a "365-Day Reading Plan" (I just noticed the index lists this as starting on page 1106) and then eight pages of color maps.

Is the reading plan for reading this book or other books.

& other librarians, should I count the maps?

Maps count unless for some weird reason they are unrelated to the book.

Thank you LJ. I remember Rivka saying they counted when in the middle of a book - wasn't sure about the end. I'll add a page count of 1115.

That's ok. It probably should be combined with other Bibles, but I'm not game to take that on!

You're welcome.

There have been many discussions about what counts at end of book. My understanding is anything directly related to the book counts, including discussion questions, recipes, illustrations, diagrams, maps, and so on.

(The Bible is an exception to the rule that all translations should be combined. English editions should only combined with the editions of the same translation.)
