33/144 total books read

Thank you! So far, 2023 has been a personal best for me. :) I can't wait to see how 2024 goes.

First books of the year down!

Sad to report that Our Share of Night was my first DNF of the year. It's truly a me-problem, not at all a problem with the book! Makes it even more sad, imo. Opting to DNF The Miniaturist as well. Just not as magical as I was hoping, and it was actively upsetting to read. Respectfully, wtf @ everyone who likes this book: Hooked (DNF'd in less than 30 pages, skim-read to be sure. I'm extremely sure lmfao).
Also, finished up my first series for the year with Ironside! Second series finished with Sable Peak. Third series finished with Curse of the Troll!! I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty proud of this! lol! Fourth series finished: Take a Hike.

I started the year off strong, and I can't wait to see what I get into in February!

Two preorders this month! Wildful and House of Flame and Shadow. I also DNF'd Between Commitment and Betrayal and unhauled Between Love and Loathing as well.
I finished up/caught up at least on the Crescent City series, which makes 5! I'm thrilled to be 1/3 of the way through my series goal already.

February was rough between my workload and illness, so I'm hoping to make up some ground in March!

Read a preorder - Bride! Aside from a few preorders, I haven't purchased (or read) books in. 2024. I WILL whittle down this physical TBR...one way or another, lol! Completed another series by reading Ashen Son. Sad to report that I read a little over half of Man Hunt before ultimately deciding to DNF. Also DNF'd Faking It with the Billionaire because I just thought it was trying too hard to do too much. Finished a duology with Two Twisted Crowns!

I didn't go into February or March with plans, and I think that's why I've been in such a funk with my reading. Having said that I'm going to start planning some reads.
These will wrap up/continue series for me:

These are for book clubs/reading challenges:

If I get through all of these, I will see what I have time for. It's not super promising that I'll get much read in April, but a plan is a start!

Finished another series with An Unconditional Freedom: An Epic Love Story of the Civil War! That puts me officially over halfway to my finish/catch up on 15 series goal. I thought Hail Mary would be a series finisher for me, but I found out (to my delight!) there is a fifth book coming this year. Then, I read my first non-Mount TBR book of the year: Song of the Abyss, for which I did a sensitivity read for the author! Amazed it took me til mid-April to read something I acquired this year, I've done so well!! I've owned Tell Me How You Really Feel since 2019, so that was nice to get off my TBR shelf finally! Really been enjoying what I've picked up in April.

I'm not sure I get the hype with Flawless, unfortunately. I will, however, continue the series because I *need* to read Jasper's story. Made some progress in two other series so far! So far, all the romances I've read this month, bar one (the alien one) have been 3-3.5 stars. Am I in a rut?! Made more progress in the Clecanian series. Annoyed at myself for fulfilling other challenge prompts with more first books in series LOL. DNF'd and unhauled both Persephone Station and Yerba Buena.

Some lofty goals here, I'm going to put them in list format. Hopefully being on vacation will be helpful for me?
- Read 3 24 in 24 books (0/3)
- Read A Long Time Coming
- Read A Summer to Remember
- Read all 4 book club books (3/4)

It's been a banner June so far! Working through the Clecanian series and started the Guild Hunters series finally!! So behind on my book club reads this month, but I did finally read Saint which caught me up on another series! Sadly, DNF'd The Shape of Water, but I'm hoping to enjoy the movie! I finished/caught up on the Clecanian series!

- Read 4 of the 24 in 24 books (2/4)
- Read A Long Time Coming
- Read A Summer to Remember (before it stops being summer!)
- Stretch goal: Read 20 books (19/20)

Trying to force myself to get through some of the shorter books on my shelves. I'm so bad at picking them up!
It's legitimately just so cozy being in the Ice Planet world. Glad I started off my July with that one! Making more progress with IPB. DNF'd a book club book (Dark City Omega), and read a new 2024 release. Finally picked up Blythe Baird's poetry collection that had just been collecting dust on my shelves! Trying to focus on my 24 in 2024 list, buuut we'll see haha! Knocked another book off my 24 in 24 list!
Needed to unhaul four books to stick with my goal to unhaul for every new release I read, so I unhauled these four: Unnatural Magic, The Grace Year, Midnight at the Electric, and Promise of Shadows. Trying to be honest with myself about these YA books that have just lapsed on my shelves.
I still can't believe I read the Shrek Smut(TM) book.

- Read the 9 books that will catch me up on/finish 9 series (2/9)
- "Taste Test" 3 books I am iffy on (0/3)
- Read 3 books on the 24 in 24 list (0/3)

Finished two series in the first week of the month! And one of my 24 in 24.
Currently reading:

I've really had a lot of difficult things going on in July and August, so I'm looking forward to relaxing and reading the first week of September.
I'd still like to finish/catch up on a couple of series, but mostly I'd just like to read more than I read in August.
