Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu
These are the same authors but there are separate profiles and there is a librarian note on the second profile saying not to merge the profiles but there are many duplicates because of the on either profile. And the author has to many works to go in and change all the primary or secondary authors. I’m not sure if I should just leave it alone like it says or not.

There are 190 of them. Have fun!

Move like 800, according to the disambiguation page.

The combine page or the disambiguation page are usually the easiest way to start.
The combine page, since there is a direct link to the edit page.
The disambiguation page, since all books with the incorrect author as primary author are listed there, even when they are combined with other editions.

Note: the primary author has to be the same on ALL editions.
That means correcting all combined editions.
However, especially with the 'improved' Amazon import, editions with different primary authors are now being combined anyway, which makes the combine page less usable.

ETA: when the longer name is on the cover, that version has to be added as secondary author. When the names are too similar, a workaround has to be used to add the secondary author.

Good thing you asked. Better to ask a question than doing something against policy when you're not sure.
