I'm Fred Pierre and I'm a fan of space opera, physics and technology stories. I also love alien artifacts - they hold so much mystery.
I write science fiction, but it's near-future, not far-future sci-fi. I call it near-future mild dystopia. I throw in a lot of dream sequences and humor to lighten the mood.
This month, I published a collection of 23 short stories focused on the conjunction of artificial intelligence and corporate bureaucracy. It's called Capital Disrupt. I believe it captures something of our current zeitgeist. If anyone wants to write a review, I would love that.
In Capital Disrupt, AI's rule the roost and corporations create bureaucratic nightmares for customers. Capital Disrupt is about the life hacks people use to subvert the system. It's about noisy devices, matchmaking AIs, heat waves, internet cooking and the talk every parent has to have with their kids about capitalism. It's dark humor, but it's ultimately uplifting.
I think you'll enjoy the vocabulary and the literary and cultural references. I read about technology on a daily basis, so I worked in many of the current debates about the rapid pace of technological change. Give it a try. There's a story in Capital Disrupt for everyone.
