UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 64 comments I have many shelves with zero books and I'd like to delete those shelves. Can anyone help?

Liralen | 8223 comments On desktop (not sure about mobile), if you go to your shelves, you'll see a small "Edit" link next to "Bookshelves" at the top left (under "My Books"). Clicking that will take you to a page where you can edit shelf names or delete them outright.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 64 comments Thank you so much!

Do you know if there's a way to batch remove books from my library? For instance, if I wanted to remove all Tolkien books or all Dr. Suess books at a one time, rather than one by one, is there a way to do that?

Liralen | 8223 comments Hmm—there's a "batch edit" button next to the search bar (again—desktop, in your shelves; the smaller search bar, not the one for the overall site), and you could search for "Seuss" or "Tolkein" and then hit "batch edit", check them off, and try "remove books from all shelves". But I've never tried that and can't guarantee that it works!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 64 comments Thanks!! I'll give it a shot.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 64 comments It gave me the option to remove from all shelves but I don't know if that removes the book totally from my library.

Liralen | 8223 comments I don't know either. But you could always try with a book or two and then search for the book in your shelves—that'll tell you whether or not it's still there. (Edit: only test this if you want the book to be off your shelves!)

Your library is composed of books on your shelves so if book is gone from all shelves then it's gone from library. Caution: when it's gone it's gone. Goodreads cannot recover it for you.

Site function questions should be addressed in help not in Librarians Group. Librarians task is to maintain the database of books and authors.

Thanks for the heads up. Is there a place that is appropriate to address this?

This is a link to the help section: https://help.goodreads.com/s/ it's also under the company links in the site footer.
