Sebastian Parker is thirteen. He thinks he is just an ordinary alpha off to join the Academy to refine his skills, but ‘the test’ shows something different. It turns out he is a Hybrid – a Quad-brid to be exact - and will grow up to be the most powerful alpha in more than two millennia.
Forced to join the Dark side of the Academy, Sebastian faces fear, rejection, and brutality. Making some unlikely friends and finding adventure, he strives to keep to the Light. However, in a final twist, unsure of who to trust, and what is real, Sebastian is faced with the ultimate decision of whether to embrace the Darkness …
Dark, brutal, and gripping, The Hybrid is the first novel in The Hybrid series. The series is set in a dark vision of the future where some humans, known as alphas, have developed abilities.
The Tower (The Hybrid #2)
Facing execution, or worse, at the Agency, Sebastian Parker’s life hangs in the balance.
As Sebastian grows in power, he learns shocking truths about his true identity and his ultimate destiny.
Will he assist the Agency in their battles? Are they fighting the real enemy? Can Sebastian evade his terrifying fate?

Q&A
Do you have a Guilty Pleasure book?
I saw a chain on this group on whether it is cringe or not, it is cringe, but I still love it... Twilight. I'm currently reading Midnight Sun, which seems even more cringe.
What is your favorite quote?
"When given the choice between being right or being kind, choose kind."
- R.J. Palacio, Wonder
What is your favorite movie and why?
The Shawshank Redemption - it's so dark in places but also has so much light. And that twist ...
What is your favorite genre to read? To write?
YA fantasy, especially dystopian, and if it has a dragon in it, I'm usually sold. Although my work is dark, I strangely don't like reading (or watching) anything dark.
Which authors inspire you?
Suzanne Collins, James Dashner, George Orwell (how did he know?)
What is the best part about being an author?
Love, love, love it when readers enjoy the books. As I have no control over that, I'll say creating that first draft, when all the ideas in my head can just splat onto the page, leaving my future self to clean up the mess.
Give us an insight into your main character. What do they do that is so special?
Sebastian (Seb) is thirteen. He's had a horrible childhood, bought up by an abusive father after his mother and twin brother died. Seb is light, he's good, but he's forced to join the dark side of the academy. So Seb is mixing with all the other teenagers who are learning dark arts, he's being forced to learn dark arts himself, but he's actually a really good person, so he's being torn in two. Seb is also incredibly powerful, so people fear him, they plot to kill him. The series is very much Seb's struggle on whether to embrace the darkness or keep to the light.
What was the hardest thing about writing your last book?
Just finished the prequel to The Hybrid Series, The First Alpha. It's another trilogy, and I struggled with where to end the first book, as, similar to The Hybrid Series, it's a continuous story. I hope I got it right; I suppose I'll find out in a couple of weeks once the ratings / reviews come in 😬
