Jon (jonmoss) | 529 comments October is more than half over and I spent half of that time reading the excellent standalone fantasy novel To Ride Hell's Chasm (my review) by Janny Wurts.

Next, I'm starting the much lighter Miles, Mystery & Mayhem. I'll probably alternately read The Lies of Locke Lamora depending on my mood and the strength of the stories.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I also read "To Ride Hell's Chasm". Wow!

I made a long weekend of it & read two books by L.E. Modesitt Jr., Haze & Imager The First Book of the Imager Portfolio. both very good. The first was SF, lots of political philosophy, the second was fantasy, with some of the same, but mostly a really neat system of magic.

Priscilla I am working on the Kushiel series by Jacqueline Carey. I just finished the first book and I am loving hte series. I have not started with the second book yet but I should start this evening.

Marc (authorguy) | 393 comments Currently reading Jinx, part of a series of paranormal romances featuring heroines with superpowers. Ever since Soon I will be Invincible and the Watchmen movie, they're much more common.

I finished off all the available books in Charles Stross' Merchant princes series. Have to wait until next year for the next.

Mostly getting into Medium right now. I got the first two seasons on DVD and its a really good show. It's not a show about how she solves mysteries with her visions, but rather a show about a woman, wife and mother, who has these visions, and what she does with them. Much more interesting that way.

Barbm1020 I've been a Medium fan from the start. The real Allison DuBois appeared on a talk show the week it premiered, and I was impressed with her, not to mention I love Patricia Arquette's work. I agree that the show is more about how a family deals with a wild talent than about solving crimes. I love it! Glad to meet another fan.

Marc (authorguy) | 393 comments My only problem is that I'd rather watch the next episode than work on my next story!
