Ellen | 3515 comments A lucky group of 8 people have been selected for a 10-day vacation in a luxury Canadian spa. They will be flown to the secluded resort by a local pilot with a float plane. Excitement is in the air as the plane glides to its destination but it is certainly not the posh location they were all led to believe. Instead it is a ramshackle house surrounded by dense forest and black mountain peaks. There is no electricity, a few tins of food and certainly no cell phone service. As a vicious storm looms over the mountain tops the pilot insists that they should be able to leave first thing in the morning. The group settles in for an uncomfortable night all the while feeling that they know one another somehow. Morning light brings the shocking news that the plane has been cut from its moorings and has floated away in the storm-raged river. One of their guests is missing and there is blood on the dock where the plane was tied. What is going on and how are they all connected to one another.

The local RCMP and a rescue tracker have been alerted about the missing tour group. Risking their lives to search the area during the storm they are quite unprepared for what they find. Bodies in a generator powered freezer, a person hanging from a bedroom ceiling, a body strapped into the pilot's seat of the drifting float plane and several more bodies in the deep woods. One person is rescued alive and all evidence will come from this person and the authorities will have to decided if it is the truth.

Another riff on the Agatha Christie "And Then There Were None" and a well done take on the murder mystery story. It is very interesting when the individuals in the group begin to realize how they know one another and they are then frightened about their secrets coming to light. The atmosphere of the old house and the rain-soaked forest are scary leading to a great setting for a suspenseful thriller.
