Gail and Carol- I love Bahni Taupin audio narration as well. She is a narrator that makes me give a second look when deciding what to listen to.

Interesting that you both are familiar with her. I don't think I've listened to her before.

I was going to say I listened to 3 or 4 but when I checked, it was actually 9 times! She does both fiction and non-fiction. The first time I listened to her was Nicola Yoon's The Sun Is Also a Star. In 2018 it was recommended to me to read So You Want to Talk About Race. I greatly appreciated listening to her with the nuances the author wanted to portray rather than the voice in my head. Totally different perspective.

Holly. Stephen King. Read by Justine Lupe, Stephen King. 4/5
This is a follow-up to Mr. Mercedes, Finders Keepers and The Outsider, where Holly Gibney is working with a team of detectives. This time Holly is on her own, investigating a missing person case for a client. King has created a particularly depraved pair of antagonists, and Holly doggedly (and with the help of her friends) gets to the bottom of it. Nicely read by Justine Lupe.
Like a Sister. Kellye Garrett. Read by Bahni Turpin. 4/5
A black reality TV star turns up dead, and her estranged sister is the only one who suspects foul play. I’m not a big fan of regular citizens endangering themselves (and others) by investigating crimes, but I saw this author on a panel at Bouchercon 2023 and was intrigued by the plot. This was an entertaining read with shady (maybe) supporting characters and it kept me guessing throughout.
