Librarian Greta Plank is hard at work planning and preparing for Larkspur’s Fall Festival and regional tourism showcase which, if successful, will be a boon to the local economy. But disaster strikes and chances of a positive review look slimmer than a periodical’s spine when a series of pranks escalates and one of Larkspur’s own is found dead the same day the reporter is set to arrive.

Desperate to defend her town’s character and get to the bottom of the circulating mayhem, Greta begins indexing suspects. Could the crimes be an outside job, undertaken by someone intent on harming the town’s reputation? Or is someone closer to home trying to ruin Larkspur from the inside?

With destruction of property, sabotage, and strange animal mishaps piling up on top of murder, Greta wouldn’t recommend this ‘choose your own (disastrous) adventure’ to anyone. In the end, she must decide who she can trust so she can close the book on these crimes before the shadowy vandal authors another kill.

I'm at Chapter 11 (24%) and so far it's good.

I'm at Chapter 23 (57%). Seeing more of the blooming relationship with Greta an McHenry. Pretty cute.

Abby. Yikes. what she said about show just having to go on and some people aren't upset the mayor is gone! YIKES! she's looking like a suspect!!

(view spoiler)[ wow, so Rex is really someone from the town. that's so dirty, to come back and lie like that AND to then write an article. I hope he gets found out and outed to the whole town before he publishes whatever article he's doing.

but I still don't think he killed the mayor
Abby is looking pretty bad but I don't see her spray painting something but. . .who knows. It's hard to know. I wonder what she keeps yelling at Barry about. Could Barry be the one doing the revenge type things - could HE have killed her?

and I agree with what we talked about - it didn't make sense he'd murder

but who is this Alan guy? and why is he arguing with all the mayors?

and who threw the bricks? why scare the resort out of the area, and Ed with his funds? that person hit quite a few spots. . .could that be Alan?

but Megan was a complete surprise - I didn't even remember who she was! lol Did we see her before they caught her?

I thought Josie being in a burning cabin and then almost killed at the hospital was a bit over the top! Jeez, she was back to the library in no time and being all find with it all! lol

Finished this one on the plane yesterday. I enjoyed the cute cozy and looking forward to more in this series.
