Are the Heir Chronicles and the Seven Realms Series related?

I've read the Seven Realms series and as far as I know they are separate from the Heir Chronicles. I think they are set in the same world but with different people and so it shouldn't really matter which one you read first.

I bought both, but I don't know which to start with.
I read the first one of the Heir Chronicles and I liked it, but I'm not sure if I should read the Demon King yet.
So please help if you can!!
