Hello!
Yes, we do require a book review or 4-5 status updates for a book to count towards a category/task in a challenge.

Sorry for just seeing this! Thanks for letting me know Erin. Are you bowing out of both DWTS and the Winter Olympics? Or just this one?

Articles can be used or ignored :)
Hmm... I'll double check those when I can. About to do monthly score updates.

No problem. :)
Alaina, I'm having issues with the spreadsheet. When I try and select Len Goodman I get the following error. Same for when I try to select the task.
"The data you entered in cell H6 violates the data validation rules set on this cell."
Let me know if this is just user error and what I'm doing wrong. :)

Hmm not sure what's going on with these formulas. I think I fixed it now. Let me know if you run into any other issues

If it's not a theme task, they are repeatable throughout the challenge. Each week, you only need to read for one judge and one host (you can read for the same two the whole challenge if you want). It's just for each dance you read, you need to also read for a professional and star dancer.

I tried and failed to make this a general question so here's my specific book series question.
I'm reading a series of novellas where book 1 is over 100 pages but the rest aren't. The edition I own is The Complete Series. Could I use book one for a task then use the Complete Series (minus the pages for book one) for a second task once I've completed the series?
I know I could do each one individually for page points only but I'd rather knock off tasks where possible. There's also a set of editions that are 1-3, 4-6, 7-9. If I can't break up the complete edition could I use those (so 3 tasks) as they are each over 100 pages?

Oh, I'm so sorry if I missed this!
Sure, I'll allow that. Any way you want to break it up will work for me.

What are you trying to do for the theme? It looks like you have 4 books for the theme task - premier night. Are you trying to replace someone who hasn't finished their book?
Okay, I moved Aly's book from the novella task to the banked tab. Added your novella book to the correct spot. Spots 2-5 are for the theme of that week only. 6-224 will be for the remaining tasks.
Can we use multiple graphic novels to reach the page count minimum for this challenge to use for a task?
So for example if I read volumes 2, 3, & 4 of the Grimm Fairy Tales comics which would be 520 pages or 130 after dividing by 4, could I then post those 3 for a single task?
I know we could do this in some past challenges but I don't know if it's allowed for all of them.

Sure, you can combine them if they both work for that task.

Yes, I will accept 'hop' within a word. Like chop, hope, etc.

Hello! For Grayson Hawthorne: MC is a billionaire, does the MC have to be stated to have a billion dollars, precisely?
For example, if the MC is a king or queen with a huge castle and (presumably) a ton of money at their disposal, would that count? Or does the text have to explicitly state that the MC has at least a billion dollars?

A second question: I'm reading a book from the Oxford Very Short Introductions series. All the covers are related and they're all published by the same group as part of a series with a unified mission, but they have different authors and aren't classified as a series by the Goodreads database. Would one of those books count for "series has more than 10 books"?

No, it doesn’t have to be stated

Ruthless Vows is a BOTM for Jan. If I read this in Feb, do I get to count as a BOTM or is it only for the current month?

If you get the amount of comments you need by February 5th, then yes.

3 questions:
-what happens if we don't finish three vooks for the weekly task?
-can we use a banked book for the weekly task?
-does the rule "substituting any book in series for the book in series in a given list for a list task" apply for the weekly task?
Thank you!

Not at all, sorry for just seeing this. I haven't been feeling well. It looks like there's one team that needs some help, please head on over to Team Ariana! Here is the link, https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Hello!
1. Hm... that's a great question. I didn't add that into the rules but if a team doesn't complete the theme task for that week, then I will spin a wheel to take away points. That could range from 1-10.
2. Yes, you can use banked books for any part of the challenge - including the theme task.
3. Substituting series reads will work for a task that has a list. Or if I ever give a list for an option to help out that theme task.

What if we got the number of comments but didn't finish the book in time? Normally I finish so it's a non-issue but I stopped at 83% last night because I was falling asleep - I will finish today but am just wondering if I can count it or not, or if I can count the 83% tripled for BOTM and not the rest.

You can count it.
Would a microphone count for "music instrument on cover"? I know it isn't like, a guitar, but since singers use it as part of a band I feel like it could count.

Sure, since they are using their voice which is a singer's musical instrument.
