PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Hannah Rose Thomas, a humanitarian activist and artist, has created a beautiful, moving tribute to the women who are always the victims in wars. The stories in Tears of Gold: Portraits of Yazidi, Rohingya, and Nigerian Women should go around the world.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Not only did I enjoy (as expected) The Last Devil to Die, British author Richard Osman's fourth outing with his Thursday Murder Club, but I was impressed with how sensitively he handled some very moving scenes. Wonderful!

I truly thought that this was my kind of book, but it was too dark and too abrupt at the end for my liking. :/

Carolyn | 9840 comments One by One by Freida McFadden One by One by Freida McFadden, is supposedly a thriller about a group of friends who get lost in the woods, but it felt more like an amusing parody to me (possibly there is something wrong with me not the book!) It was a quick read and I still enjoyed it!
