PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments The skies of the Scottish Hebrides in Peter May's Lewis Trilogy mysteries are often as dark as the covers suggest, but the people's stories are fascinating. The Chessmen was the last, but a new fourth one just came out that I'm looking forward to. A trilogy+1?

The Love Elixir of Augusta Stern by Lynda Cohen Loigman
This worked well for many readers, but I couldn't stand the contemporary timeline. The historical timeline saves the book.

Carolyn | 9840 comments Death at the Sign of the Rook (Jackson Brodie, #6) by Kate Atkinson Death at the Sign of the Rook by Kate Atkinson starts off with her unconventional PI Jackson Brodie investigating an art theft and ends in a Christie-esque type scenario with a group of strangers snow bound in a crumbling mansion. Lots of fun!

The Cellist (Gabriel Allon, #21) by Daniel Silva
⭐⭐⭐
For first time readers the rating would be 4 stars and above.
For series readers like me this story is Similar to books in the series. Thriller.
Read as a fan of the series and the hero Gabriel Allon.

Series needs some unpredictability to rejuvenate.
