PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Why have I waited so long to read this classic? The Big Sleep is the first in Raymond Chandler's iconic private eye series featuring Philip Marlowe. I can sure see why it would have raised some eyebrows back then.
The Big Sleep (Philip Marlowe, #1) by Raymond Chandler My review of The Big Sleep

Carolyn | 9841 comments The Crowded Grave (Bruno, Chief of Police, #4) by Martin Walker The Crowded Grave by Martin Walker is the fourth book in his Bruno, Chief of Police series and life in his little French village is far from quiet with animal activists, a new magistrate and Basque terrorists threaten an important meeting between French and Spanish government ministers.

Andrea | 2164 comments I probably wouldn't tackle AA Gabriel Bergmoser's latest, The Lodger, as a standalone, but those who have read all his adult thrillers are sure to enjoy it.

Carolyn | 9841 comments The Last Remains (Ruth Galloway, #15) by Elly Griffiths The Last Remains by Elly Griffiths appears to be the final book in this series. I shall miss all the characters, especially Ruth and Cathbad. It was fun having an archaeologist and a druid as characters in a crime series.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments A couple more fun ones from Amazon's Busybodies Collection, cosy mysteries.

Crime of Fashion by Emma Rosenblum takes place at a fashion shoot where a minor underling is accused of stealing a necklace worth $3million! Poor kid.
Crime of Fashion (Busybodies Collection, #3) by Emma Rosenblum My review of Crime of Fashion

The Nosy Neighbor is by Nita Prose, who wrote the popular The Maid, among other things. It seemed straightforward, but I should have known better. Nicely twisty.
