This week I received my contributor’s copies of the Fall 2009 Nimrod, founded in 1956 at The University of Tulsa. Such a long-lived publication is not common among poetry journals. I feel lucky to be included in this one.

This issue includes my poems are Afghanistan and At the Door. Afghanistan was written a few years back, but thanks to USA foreign policy, is still pertinent. It’s written as a kind of anagram poem. The letters of the last word in each line can be found in the title.

Here’s a link to the Nimrod website: http://www.utulsa.edu/nimrod/ It’s a print journal so you won’t find my poems there, though.

The kudos keep on coming, Ruth! How many poems shy are you from a published collection?

Thanks NE. I've published about 75 poems. What I'm short of is a MS, putting work together to make a book to tart around to publishers.

I know, Gabi, I know. I'd like to post my poems for you. But it's not quite cricket to do that yet, with the ink still wet on Nimrod's pages. It's only fair to give them time to sell some issues.

You can see some of my work at http://www.goodreads.com/story/list/3... I'm planning on adding some more poems when I get a chance.

There's also some older work at http://web.archive.org/web/2004060720...
