"They have been after you your whole life!" He yells. "I'm supposed to protect you! They never should have gotten that close!" He was afraid and angry at his own actions.

She gritted her teeth and grabbed his shoulders. "Stop yelling." She said in a hushed tone. "It isn't that big of a deal. I was bound to find out sometime in my life anyways right?"

He looked up to her. Her defiant expression. He closed his eyes and breathed. "Fine okay, we ned to leave though. Get out before they can track us." He gently removed her hands from his shoulders and stood up. Folding his wings tightly against his back, beneath his jacket.

"Okay. We can just go on the bus back to my apartment. I'm pretty sure the demons won't be there." She was still nervous about going back though. She peeked her head out of the alleyway and saw the bus. She quickly ran out towards it.

"Okay well go with that plan," he said and followed her. "The apartment is glamoured. We should be safe. " he hopped on to the bus before the doors closed.

She made it to the back on the bus and made room for him to sit down. Kim nervously bit her lip as she looked outside. She half expected a demon to be staring back at her on the other side, but there wasn't. The bus moved and she felt crowded again.

He sat next to her. He gritted his teeth as the bus knocked him into the wall. He was terribly claustrophobic he was used to free air and space. His back hurt from the blows the demons made but he gave No mention to it. He never got sick or hurt. He was an angel. Only demons and angels could hurt one another.

She looked at Kavian and wondered if he was ever used to human life. That was a question she would have to ask him later. Once the bus finally got to a halt. She got up and got off the bus. She started to head to her apartment.

He walked a pace behind her. He followed h down the street walking backwards looking for any threat. He knew the way by heart. For a second he looked at his shadow. He didn't have a dark shadow, but he still looked at the slight figure of himself. The slight bulge of his jacket where his wings hid inside his back.

She looked behind to see if he was following and saw him looking at his shadow. She didn't ask why he was and just looked forward again. She climbed the stairs to her apartment and grabbed her keys. "Hey, you sure your okay from those demons?" She asked.

He looked up to her. "Maybe maybe not." He said slyly. He didn't give any indication of his wounds earlier. Se couldn't have seen them. All he did was give a slight expression of pain. "Why so concerned?" He asked "Your the one who almost got strangled."

"I don't care." She shrugged. She opened the door and walked in. She held open the door for him. Then closed it behind him. She sighed. "Plus, if you are possibly injured, how can you protect me?" She turned around to face him.

"You don't care that you got strangled?" He shook his head laughing. "Plus I am plenty capable of protecting you. Even with some minor bruising " He didn't think she even needed protecting but then it might go to her head. He smirked and stepped into the apartment. "Wow it's different from the inside,"

"Now I wonder what you have been doing." She said glancing at him. She sits down on the couch tiredly and sighed. She looked away and rubbing her neck. "How long have you been... By my side?"

"A fair amount of time," he said vaguely. He looked out the window and the tree where he would sit most nights because he couldn't sleep. He rubbed his stomach absently, it hurts he felt each of his bruises.

"Why are you rubbing your stomach?" She stood up. "I knew you were bothered by the hits, let me see if I can do anything." She walked toward him and lifted his shirt so it showed his stomach. She rubbed it slightly to see if it hurt.

He watched her until her felt his stomach. He gritted his teeth. He looked down at his skin. It wasn't a lot of skin though. Red, black, purple and blue greeted him.

"Ouch. That doesn't look friendly." She put his shirt down and got a ice pack. "Maybe this will help, but I'm not sure of the angel way so..." She shrugged lightly.

"I don't know either," he said lightly. "I haven't encountered demons before." A look of worry crossed his face. If that's what they could do in a few hits. He could beat them but still they were growing stronger. He took the ice pack from her "thanks,"

"No problem." She said and looked at his stomach. "Are you hungry or something? Or do angels don't need need food?" She asked him softly. She was started to like Kavaian. He wasn't all that bad.

"Um no I'm not hungry thanks!" He sat down lightly on the couch. He knotted his hand in his curly hair. Lifting the ice pack to his flesh it rose with goose flesh. "We'll that's… cold"

"Thanks captain oblivious. Glad your observing things." She said sarcastically. She made a sandwich for herself and sat next to him on the couch. "Just don't hold it there for to long."

"Yes because that was exactly what I was going to do," he said sarcastically. He raised the ice pack again. It stung slightly but otherwise he would live. "What now?" He sked shyly.

"If you're done, put it in the freezer." She nodded her head to the freezer. She slightly wondered if he understood her world at all. 'Probably does, but...' She sighed and took a bite of her sandwich.

He glanced at her. "What?" He asked slightly confused. He got up and put the ice in the freezer. A blast of cold air but him and he breathed it in. It was comforting since the air was frigid up high. While flying. He remembered being so free. He closed his eyes as he stood there.

She didn't notice at first when he left the freezer open until her eyes grazed to him. She quickly got up and walked to him. She closed the freezer. "Don't leave it open for so long." She sighed. "It'll cost a lot of money." She glanced at him.

He sighed when she closed the door. "Sorry," he said but he wasn't. Not even close. He tried to put his arm on top of the fridge put it hurt so he took it back to his side. He needed to fly. Instead he sat heavily on the couch.

She watched him quietly and knew something was up. She walked toward him and tore off a piece of her sandwich. "I want you to eat it. Even if you're not hungry or anything. It would make me feel better about you." She said in a attempt to figure him out.

He raised an eyebrow not understanding. He gently reached up and took the price. He looked t her again, hesitating. He opened his mouth and placed it on us tongue. Chewing then swallowing giving no expression. "It was good thank you,"

She sighed. "I expected something different, but okay." She sat down besides him. "You can take off you're jacket too. There's a coat rack in front of the front door." She wanted to be a little kind to him. He didn't seem to really care that much though.

He smirked at her as he stood up. After putting his jacket away he bowed. "Anything else I can do for you?" He asked sincerely. He seemed to be upsetting her somehow but he wasn't sure why.

She was slightly taken back from his next move. "What are you doing?" She asked. She didn't want him bowing or acting like a butler. She stood up and straightened him. "There. There's nothing you need to do for me."

He raised his eyebrow slightly. "Uh okay," he said. He sat down on the couch, "You seem to be handling this well, this was kind of thrown upon you so..."

She wanted to say she was panicking. She was nervous about what was going on and about him as well. "Yeah, but I'm alright." She glanced outside for a bit and then to him. "You want coffee?"

"Um Coffee?" He asked wondering what that was. He tried to remember the life of a human, it wasn't that interesting.

"Yeah coffee." She walked to the kitchen and made two cups of coffee. "It helps for people to stay awake. Caffeine." She walked back and handed him the cup.

He shrugged. "Okay," he said smiling. She seemed to enjoy this. He took the coffee cup and took a drink. "Not what I was expecting but good."

"It's the best at Starbucks." She smiled and sat down next to him. She drank some of her drink as well. After a while she said, "so those demons... Why did they suddenly want to kill me?"

"Oh they've always wanted to kill you. It's just now they got close enough to actually harm you." He took another sip of coffee and sat forward his elbows on his knees.

She watched him and then glanced at his back where his wings were. "Does everyone have a guardian angel of some sorts or I'm the rare case?" She asked and then looked at him.

"Some do, you are a special case anyway." He didn't know what else to say. He didn't want to tell her everything all at once.

She nodded. "I see. That's cool I'm special." She laughed softly. "Of course, I can't tell anyone else. Can others see you?"

"They see me as another normal teenage boy. Though humans do have a tendency to believe what they want to believe. " he shrugged again. "I kind of like it. No one knowing who you really are," he lifted his head and looked at her.

"Oh. I guess it sounds fun." She looked at him a bit and was shocked how handsome he actually looked. She gulped and then looked away. She sipped her coffee. "How long have you been assigned to me?"

"Time doesn't really matter to us, a long time," He looked at her hair in the sunlight, it was so beautiful, he wanted see her eyes. He looked away instead.

"I guess you don't gave to worry about time." She shrugged. She glanced back at him and then to her drink. She sipped some more before putting it down.

He looked at her cup. "It's getting cold," he stated as he watched as the heat disappeared and could feel the temperature decreasing. "Are you not thirsty anymore?"

"Just not in the mood to finishing it up sometimes." She glanced at his cup. "I can help you put it away." She said. "Did you like it?"

He cocked his head, "Yes I thought I said that," He rubbed his chest but he stood up despite the pain. Kim puzzled him sometimes. He wasn't sure what he should say.
