Melanie Davies (meldaviesbooks) | 16 comments Hi, this is my book as I have been trying to update it/add it to my listings, but it says it's under the other Melanie Davies. Is there anyway this can stop happening? As I have to do this 99% of the time. That author also is credited for some of my other books.

This book is mine - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Can those above be moved to my account please. Thank you xx

Tawnya | 4041 comments The reason this is happening is because you are in the default profile. Ask them to move you out of it and most of it will stop. Any time I come across an author in that slot I ask for them to be moved. It doesn't change anything for you guys, but it makes it easier in the long run. I really don't understand why anyone is given that slot with even a semi-rare name. It makes more sense to keep it open since we know that is where Amazon dumps everything.

Martin | 35320 comments Melanie, I have moved those for you.

Tawnya, that is not the case here - the books were on the default profile, I have moved them to the correct profile.

Tawnya | 4041 comments Sorry. My brain should have used the similar authors page. Usually I go to it from the combine page...that is finally working again. Yea!

Renske | 12220 comments In this case it could be a logic option to have this author changed to the default author for this name. This author is currently publishing while the other three books are all from 2008/2009 (and maybe not even all by the same person?)
Yes, it would mean there is a chance she gets books on her profile that are not hers that need to be moved. Having more than one author with the same name will always have some issues, but with simple cases like this one the preference of the author can be taken into account.
