Good luck!

I really enjoy the series, too. I was so happy when a new publisher picked it up.

The famous mystery author Leslie Charteris takes passage on the tragic flight of the zeppelin Hindenburg in 1937 and finds a great deal more than he bargained for. I found this book very well done, extremely interesting and exciting. I really liked it, 4 stars.

Hope you enjoy it. This was an early stand alone traditional mystery of Hillerman's that I thought was good.

I am with you on this one!

Also I LOVE Grandma Mazur as well. When she was truly introduced in the second in the series, I was enchanted by her character and hooted out loud often over her antics or comments!

Chris | 316 comments I recently finished Blood Will Have Blood by Linda Barnes. 2.5 stars. This was her 1982 debut of a series featuring part-time actor and former sleuth Mickey Spraggue. Set in the theater world someone is playing "pranks" that are sabotaging the rehearsals of a new Dracula play. Mickey is brought in to track down the "jokester". Easy read.
I read the 2nd in the series quite sometime ago and as I recall it was an improvement on this first effort.

I did enjoy it. There are some very dated things since it came out in 1971, but there are a couple of edge of your seat scenes.

I actually had most of today to read, so I finished shed Point Zero by Seicho Matsumoto. I thought I'd figured it out midway through, but I was dead wrong. Awesome mystery, which begins with the husband of a newlywed woman going off for a business trip right after the honeymoon and never retuning. I was, as always, happy to be wrong with my guess of the killer. Watching the film now, translated in English as Zero Focus and streaming on Criterion.

Araych | 678 comments Amongst Our Weapons Amongst Our Weapons (Rivers of London, #9) by Ben Aaronovitch by Ben AAronovitch

Rivers of London #9. Peter is faced with what may be the Angel of Death. Or maybe it's just a lady upset about having been locked up for 2 or 3 hundred years. In case you're not aware, the Rivers of London series is a modern English police procedural in a world where magic is real. I love the series and this volume is absolutely wonderful. Exciting, funny, baffling, you name it. Great characters and dialogue. And the plot never slows down. One of the best in the series, 5 stars.
