PattyMacDotComma | 922 comments I'm glad I chose Michael Connelly's Bosch series as one to read each month this year. Angels Flight is the short funicular railway in L.A. that hauls people up and down a very steep hill. Two murder victims are discovered, spoiling Bosch's childhood memories of riding it with his mother.

Araych | 677 comments We All Fall Down We All Fall Down (Michael Kelly, #4) by Michael Harvey by Michael Harvey

Michael Kelly #4, Recommend reading series in order. This story begins immediately after the end of the previous book in the series which can be disconcerting unless you just finished reading that one. The plot revolves around a biological weapon attack in Chicago. I was never able to believe in the plot of this thriller or a lot of the actions of the characters. My opinion is this is the weakest of the series so far. 2 stars.

Chris | 316 comments I just finished the 1995 series debut Naked in Death by JD Robb. Set in 2058, I found the author's vision of the mid-21st century was interesting. I liked the murder investigation, but the romance not so much; so 3 stars

I suspended disbelief and enjoyed the ride.

Georgia | 554 comments The God of the Woods by Liz Moore. I’m still reading it! I was an amp director during the summer some years ago so this grabbed my interest immediately! However, we learn about many characters that interact with each other! On the whole, I like this 📕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Araych | 677 comments Toxic Prey Toxic Prey (Lucas Davenport, #34) by John Sandford by John Sandford

Prey series #34. This one is more Letty than Lucas. They are both involved in trying to forestall a potentially horrible biological attack. Fantastic entry in the Prey series -- the tension was so strong I had to stop reading periodically to chill and take a deep breath. Great thriller, might be the best in the series. 5 stars.

Araych | 677 comments Tropical Swap Tropical Swap (Key West, #10) by Laurence Shames by Laurence Shames

A nice middle-class New York couple rent a Key West house from a low-level Mafioso who's away on a job. The job doesn't go as expected and neither does the house rental. Very likeable and amusing tale told by a real professional. This is one of Shames' Key West series and I liked this one a lot. 4 stars.
