James Best (jamesbest) | 299 comments Now starting UNMANNED by Dan Fesperman, a stand-alone thriller published back in 2014.

I have read nine mystery/thriller novels by Fesperman over the last two years. Haven't found a bad one yet. I hope this latest book keeps that string going.

In this 'Bruno, Chief of Police' book, set in France, Bruno investigates a murder and a series of robberies.

There's too much going on in this book, but the dog is cute. 3 stars

Barbara (cinnabarb) | 9979 comments Dead Mountain: The Untold True Story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident Dead Mountain The Untold True Story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident by Donnie Eichar by Donnie Eichar

After reading the fiction book Dead Mountain (Nora Kelly, #4) by Douglas Preston , based on the Dyatlov Pass Incident, I was inspired to read the real deal.

In a few words, nine Soviet mountaineers perished in mysterious circumstances in 1959. No one knows exactly what happened and people have been speculating forever.

Author Donnie Eichar did an IMMENSE amount of research for this book, and he tells the story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident very well.....along with his own theories.

Good book. 4 stars

PattyMacDotComma | 922 comments A couple more fun ones from Amazon's Busybodies Collection, cosy mysteries.

Crime of Fashion by Emma Rosenblum takes place at a fashion shoot where a minor underling is accused of stealing a necklace worth $3million! Poor kid.
Crime of Fashion (Busybodies Collection, #3) by Emma Rosenblum My review of Crime of Fashion

The Nosy Neighbor is by Nita Prose, who wrote the popular The Maid, among other things. It seemed straightforward, but I should have known better. Nicely twisty.
