Play Book Tag discussion

This is a tough review to write. This book was totally bonkers. But I like bonkers and wacky because they are often very thought provoking. This one felt more entertaining than provocative.
It is a collection of short stories, some of which are interrelated. I had difficulty following the strings between the stories. When I finished the book, I went back to the beginning and sorta skimmed through the book a 2nd time to see all the interconnections. Some of the characters appear in one story and then reappear in another in a totally different situation. The stories are a blend of fantasy, fairy tales and reality. They bounce between absurd, comical and overly cynical. All of them are surprising and well-written. I cannot imagine how anyone's brain could think of these stories and then write them down. I was thinking 5 stars for its quirkiness and endless surprises. But it did take extra work to appreciate it, so ended with 4 stars.
As an aside, I read this for the tag "did-not-finish" and that makes perfect sense. I can see how many people would make that decision.

I guess I like bonkers, too, because I enjoyed this one.
