What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read a book a long time ago, the first of a series. I would like to find it again. It was about a magic kingdom protected by a blue magic barrier linked by towers, a baby prince kidnapped as a babe, raised by psychic cannibals in the shadowed world beyond the barrier, & later returned to take his twin's place. I have good memories of this book, but no clue as to its name or author. Any help?
