Marian F | 24 comments I'm writing a vampire story set here in New Mexico. A friend swears that Lois Duncan wrote a YA novel about a vampire in Albuquerque (Lois lived here). At the end of the book, the vampire is hiding out in the New Mexico mountains. My friend says that it made him afraid to go hiking!
He got a few details wrong about Lois Duncan, and he may be wrong about this, too. If you know of ANY vampire novels set in New Mexico, feel free to tell me. (I've already read The Vampire Tapestry by Suzy McKee Charnas, and I have the Chupacabra book by Rudolfo Anaya.)

SBC (essbeecee) | 1594 comments Have fun with your story! As far as I can tell, Lois Duncan never wrote a vampire novel, but there's a good list of Science fiction, fantasy, and horror novels set in New Mexico that might be worth a look.

Marian, around what year did your friend read this book?

Can you tell us more about the main character(s)?
Any romance?
