I found this book to be so enthralling. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lorelei promoting her own book in every thread (and not mentioning she is the author) is throwing these discussions off a bit for me (sorry, don’t mean this to sound rude or anything). But just started The Silent Patient (after waiting for it at the library for a long time) and loving it so far!

I read this book a while ago. It was a 5 star book for me and I suggest it to anyone looking for an unputdownable page turning thriller

I was hooked on the style of this book, it was almost timeless. My suspicions flitted between Max, Felix and Christian but loved the way the ending converged with the two narratives. Looking forward to reading other novels by the same author.

Only 40 pages in and I'm getting distinct Sunset Boulevard vibes.. I'm not mad about that!

I had this borrowed from my library, but I didn’t get to it in time. Waiting again, so I’m behind. I’ll be playing catch up!

The book's conclusion is nothing short of a gripping masterpiece. Amidst a sea of critical comments, I found myself thoroughly enamored with the narrative. The author skillfully weaves suspense throughout, and the unexpected twist at the end adds a delightful layer of complexity, elevating the overall experience. Despite the naysayers, I wholeheartedly enjoyed every page of this thrilling journey.

Thank you for saying that, Lisa. Was not impressed that Lorelei’s comment is a bit of a spoiler, and it seems her main focus is to self promote the book she wrote (Life Without Panties).

I read this as part of Amazon’s First Reads when it first hit the shelf last year, and I seem to have a different experience than most… With the way my brain works, I had the “twists” figured out early on which left me somewhat bored for most of the book. It wasn’t bad, but I prefer to be on edge to the bitter end.

I read this two years ago. It was one of the first thrillers I have ever read. I liked that it was quick and not too dark

Great book; I read it in 2022 and remember it vividly. Theo is an, let's say, interesting character. I believe I learned the Twist at the moment intended by the author, which was excellent because I couldn't put the book down after that. Poor woman.

Still think about the book sometimes, which is a good sign!

You're not being rude. Self-promotion in the group read threads is absolutely not allowed. I've deleted the comment and if it happens again, I can do something about that as well. I really get upset when someone does this!

Enjoyed this read very much! I really like the structure of the writing, I had not read a story like this before.

I am now 51% through The Silent Patient and find it hard to put down! If it wasn’t for other life commitments I’d have it finished for sure!

I recently discussed in a book club. I had previously read it. All the little details still hold up

I may be the only one; but reading this book made me feel depressed (which I am not usually by nature). Although it was well written, I had a problem with every character in the book being a liar, a cheat, a con man, or murderer-- or just a person with not a very good moral character. But I"m glad others found it a good read.

Just started reading this morning can’t wait to see how it is, i just finished the other recommendation this morning.

Give the rave reviews, I'll admit to being disappointed in this book. I do like a changing POV format, so it wasn't that, but I did more or less figure out the twists that were coming early on and the reliance on the diary seemed a bit lazy. An okay read, but not want that had me reading late into the night, and I'm unlikely to purchase his next book based on this one. I realize I'm an outlier here but...hey, reading is subjective, right?

Reading is for sure subjective and sorry it wasn’t a good read for you. I absolutely LOVED it and gave it 5 stars with a very short (no spoiler) review about what I thought. I said I would give it 500 stars if I could. Psychological thrillers are basically all I read besides the books picked for my book club, so a lot of plot twists I can see coming from a mile away, but yet not this one. It literally gave me chills, and then I spent 20 minutes telling my non-reader husband all about it (how a bookworm and spelling/grammar nazi like me ended up with a husband that doesn’t read I don’t know! But he can spell, lol 🙃). I got mine from the library but might buy it to give to my mom and then pass it on to other people who may be interested. I found it to be an absolutely brilliant and extremely well written book!

I read this awhile ago and I absolutely loved it 🤩 I didn’t see the plot twist coming at all and was like WHAT?!? 🤯🤯 Love when a book does that to me 😅

Started the book late this month but managed to complete the book yesterday on time.
My youngest brother over two decades my junior and who literally adapted the habit of reading books from me had recommended this book last June 2023. Procured the book but held on.

Thanks to this challenge I was able to complete it.

I really enjoyed the Silent Patient despite some negative reviews going into it. I listened to this book via audiobook and enjoyed the narration! I didn’t see the plot twist coming but felt like I should have, but so glad I didn’t! Would definitely recommend this book!

Yes, my Mystery book Club read this book a few months ago and we all really enjoyed it. This author is really good. Finishing The Maidens now and it is just as good. Quick read, easy to understqnd and short chapters. This one read by my Mystery Book Club also, mostly 4 out of 5 stars.
