GUYS. WE FINISHED CITY OF ASHES. WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK???
Okay, I NEED to know your opinions! Personally, I always enjoyed City of Bones much more, but I know a ton of people prefer the sequel! So what do you guys think? Don't be afraid to go all out with the details, this is where we can all discuss every last thought on this book!!

Can't wait to hear what you guys think, and we're looking forward to discussing it LIVE with you guys during our liveshow! We'll be announcing the information, like the date and time, soon so stay tuned!!

-xoxo Emma

Jennifer (beautifulspines) I just finished. When I first read them I liked the sequel more, but this time I liked city of bones more. That scene with Clary and Jace where he agreed to be only her brother made me so frustrated even though I knew it was coming. Re-reading this I didn't really notice many new things. But I had forgotten about Luke being attacked back in the earlier chapters. This book was still amazing, and I can't wait to see other peoples thoughts when they finish

Justin (jbradley86) just finished and i think i agree enjoyed city of bones a lot more the only bit that stole the show on this one for me was the final boat scene. It played out in my mind as a gigantic epic battle that would belong in a lord of the rings movie and i loved that. Im glad simon improved as the book went on as he was really starting to annoy me at the beginning.

I totally agree guys! I definitely like city of bones better, but I'm surprised that I enjoyed city of ashes this time around! For some reason, I always dreaded reading COA when rereading the series, but I seriously enjoyed it this time! The boat scene is definitely one of my favorites :)

Kelli (potterdancer) I just finished my re-read of this today! I've always liked City of Bones better but I thought that City of Ashes had slightly better writing. I also love the scene at the end when Clary and Jace meet and the two werewolves are having the discussion about Dumbledore vs. Magnus Bane... such a funny part! Super excited for book 3, as it's my favorite!

Haven't been updating much on Goodreads but I finished CoA this morning!! *groans* I admit, the FIRST time I read CoA, 1) I didn't remember much of it when I started the next book and 2) I didn't like it as much. Now that I've re-read it, I can totally say that CoA is my.... third favorite book in the series. :)

Grace | 14 comments Just finished and I just want to say that the ending is much better in my pov then CoB but I still think I like CoB better. My absolute favourite scene was when Maryse said "you were wrong that I never sang it to you," ... "It's just that you never heard me". I think this is my favourite scene so far in the past 2 books! I'm so excited (but also frightened, like I'm almost suffocating because scenes) to get to City of Glass because it is the book I remember reading most.

Sonia Ayala | 12 comments I only just finished City of Ashes like yesterday or two days ago >_> That fight scene on the boat? Oh. My. Gosh. I wish I could watch that because it was awesome!! While reading I couldn't help, but think "If Shadowhunters goes well, how the heck are they going to get such bloody scenes on ABC family?" They'll probably tone down the blood? I dunno. It would still be epic.

I also teared up a bit when Maryse told Jace she did sing to him and then he unloaded his bag. I thought I wasn't going to like her character at first, but after Luke talked about her I knew she wasn't that simple.

I think I liked this book better than the first. It had a better beginning and ending in my opinion.
