chels hiiii! so acotar is my favourite series but i’ve seen so many mixed reviews about ACOSF so i’ve been putting off reading it, and right now i’m currently reading the TOG series! BUT after i finish the TOG series i plan to move onto the crescent city series, however im not sure if i HAVE to read acosf before starting crescent city? so if anyone knows if it’s a MUST then pleeeease let me know! thank you! 🤍🧚🏻‍♀️

Sethanic | 14 comments I haven’t read Crescent City yet so I’m not sure how much it’ll actually affect. But in my opinion, you do need to read it. That book introduced a lot of new characters. Some new relationships too. The bonus chapter gives a hint of a new incoming conflict (yes SJM is writing a new book for ACOTAR Series)

Alina Mistuloff I truly DO NOT think its a must to read ACOTAR before crescent city! If you can, great, but I don't think it'll make the experience less than.

message 5: by Ella (new)

Ella | 5 comments there are some ACOSF spoilers in CC3. Personally I think you should read ACOSF before HOFAS

message 6: by Beth (new)

Beth | 26 comments You don't have to, but you should. And there are things you won't get in CC3 especially, if you don't. Anyway, it's good! One of my favorites.

message 7: by JoJo (new)

JoJo Gervais | 2 comments so what is the exact order of her books?

message 8: by Sav (new)

Sav | 13 comments The order of her series is Throne of Glass, A Court of Thorns and Roses, and then Crescent City.

There’s a bit of differing opinion on the order to read Throne of Glass. There’s no wrong way, and I recommend checking out some of the other threads where people really break it down. But the summary comes down to two way:

1. Order of publication (no spoilers, chronological order of events: Assassin’s Blade, Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms, Tower of Dawn, Kingdom of Ash.
2. Romantic version (emotional impact, SJM’s recommended order): Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Assassin’s Blade, Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms, Tower of Dawn, Kingdom of Ash.

It’s generally agreed on to tandem read Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn together. The books are simultaneous and cover different characters. Lots of recommendations online on how to do this. Some people who don’t want to hold two very large books together recommend reading Tower of Dawn first because Empire of Storms has a huge cliffhanger.

All her other books are read in publication order.

Karenarose | 2 comments Hi!! So i read ACOTAR and ACOSF all together and JUST finished TOG, haven’t read crescent city but… will say that the graphic audios helped me get through ACOSF. Personally, nests started out my least favorite character, but i’ve grown to appreciate her after reading her book so i would recommend reading it before CC. I’ve heard book 3 of CC has spoilers if you haven’t read all of ACOTAR, but idk how true that is. tbh, before jumping into the next series, I would backpedal and read ACOSF, especially if you learned to love Lysandra like i did. Nesta, Lysandra and Manon would be best friends by the end of Nesta’s book

ACOSF was one of my favorites!!!! Many people shy from it because it negatively portrays Feyre & Rhysand. But that's literally the point!! It's in Nesta's pov, so it's not going to show the characters in the best light since she has trauma & her relationship with Feyre is still healing.

there are definitely some acosf spoilers in hofas, so i would suggest reading it before! :)

message 12: by Mya (new)

Mya Greenfield | 1 comments I honestly struggled with the first half of ACOSF but trust me it does get better! IMO average ending. Definitely my least favourite of the series so far- but i think you should push through!
