Hooray team! I'm just glad I was able to get all of these threads posted early enough for us to plan and for me to enjoy the next couple days of reading.

Chrissie | 96 comments I guess I'll spend my evening figuring out how my current library books will fit the prompts!

Oh and HI!

Kathy E | 3319 comments Hello everyone! Looking forward to reading with all of you.

During the week, I plan to read

Ink Blood Sister Scribe - purple cover or gold on cover
Good Time Coming - set in southern US
not sure after that

message 9: by Kellie Lyn (new)

Kellie Lyn | 211 comments I have The Suspect (at 25%) and Cherry Cheesecake Murder (at 30%) started. I will wait to finish them this weekend. I am about to start Shadow and Bone and should have it ready to finish over the weekend as well. All of them have several different categories they can fit into. School starts back up on Monday so my reading will taper off during the week.

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11188 comments Mod
Oh Robin, Ink Blood Sister Scribe is so good!

I'm not very far into any of my current reads, though I do plan on reading a bit tonight. I'll make sure to save 100 pages for tomorrow! My books fit a good number of prompts so I'll see where it falls when I finish them.

Happy start day, y'all! Hope you're all having a chance to read a really great book today!

message 12: by Laurii (new)

Laurii | 68 comments Hi everybody! I've got about 175 pages to go in Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries, so hopefully I can finish that before my son's basketball game this afternoon. After that, I'll look through my stack of library books to see what prompts I can fill.

I finished The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood and put it under Gold - a character wins something. Kind of an odd book to be reading but I have one challenge to read a childhood favorite and another where archery is one of the options.

message 15: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (elizabeth1234561) | 223 comments 15 minutes left one Ask Again Yes but I have to go out so I guess I won't finish till later ugh haha

message 16: by Kellie Lyn (new)

Kellie Lyn | 211 comments Good Morning and Happy Reading! Just finished Cherry Cheesecake Murder and put as a cover with food. It looked like one of the ones with the least amount of possible choices so put it there, I was not sure how we were doing the completed page but went ahead and put it in the same column as Robin's book. If this is incorrect please move. Moving on to finishing The Suspect.

message 17: by Laurii (new)

Laurii | 68 comments I finished Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries and put it down as related to mythology since there was nothing else on the plan for that prompt.

message 18: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3319 comments I just started The Three of Us which fits quite a few prompts. I'll choose one when I finish.

I'll also be starting the audio of A Villa in Sicily: Olive Oil and Murder which fits quite a few also.

I finished Rules for Visiting and put it under Someone stays at a hotel. Now I have some longer books to get to.

message 20: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3319 comments I finished A Villa in Sicily: Olive Oil and Murder and put it under Blue: A book with a body of water on the cover.

Yay! I haven't logged in all day (trying to get some reading done!) and I'm so excited to see we are already finishing our first books of the challenge.

As you finish books, please move your column from the Plans tab to the Completed tab, and if you feel so inclined, shade the row for the prompt you put down, so that we know that one is already used. We can start with a yellow shading for our first round of beads.

Hooray! Let's keep earning those pendants!

message 22: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (elizabeth1234561) | 223 comments Slotted Obsidio into the justice prompt but feel free to move it around if needed!

message 23: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie | 96 comments I just finished The Collected Regrets of Clover which was lovely.

I'm not 100% sure how I should pick which prompt it fills as it fills several, and I'm not a spreadsheet person and have no idea how to shade things. I'll mark it for 'purple on the cover' but it certainly could be used for others.

message 24: by Laurii (new)

Laurii | 68 comments I finished my audiobook, Ten Birds That Changed the World and put it under outdoors plays a significant role.

I also read two shorter books: Poison in Paddington by Samantha Silver, which I put under silver on the cover; and White Holes which I put under black on the cover (it's nonfiction about theoretical physics- I don't think it really fits anything else).

message 25: by Kellie Lyn (new)

Kellie Lyn | 211 comments I finally finished The Suspect. Not sure where to put it. Maybe something will standout tomorrow. I am hoping to finish Shadow and Bone tomorrow before everyone arrives and the game.

message 26: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11188 comments Mod
Chrissie, I'll fill in Clover for purple on cover for you on the spreadsheet!

message 27: by Kellie Lyn (last edited Feb 11, 2024 07:09AM) (new)

Kellie Lyn | 211 comments I put The Suspect on "Green on the cover". It does fit other prompts but all of them seem to have many books so I went with the least. Decided to put off Shadow and Bone I am hoping to finish Bride and The Lost Causes of Bleak Creek today.

message 28: by Kathy (last edited Feb 11, 2024 07:51PM) (new)

Kathy E | 3319 comments I finished:
The Three of Us and put it under "pink on the cover."
The Three of Us by Ore Agbaje-Williams

The Revolution of the Moon for "character who name starts with a letter in SILVER" Character name: Don Alterio

I was tied up all day with church and driving to a friend's out of town for Super Bowl. Should be able to catch up tomorrow.

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11188 comments Mod
I finished Blackouts last night, and put it for the title that starts with a letter (or, in this case, letters) in BLACK. It was good, surprising, not my usual type of book but I really got into it.

I'll be driving to my parents' house for Mardi Gras today, so I'll clock some audiobook time. Hopefully I can start my new print today but we will see how the toddler cooperates!

We only have one more prompt for our first bead - Black!

message 31: by Laurii (new)

Laurii | 68 comments I read Silver Buckles, so I'll put that down for silver on the cover and change Poison in Paddington to main character breaks a law and our bead will be complete!

Robin P | 3981 comments Mod
I finished The Rosie Effect, which I put under character cooks a meal. The main character Don cooks many meals which are described in the book.

Also finished L'enfant multiple (Multiple child) and put it under Set in France.

For both of those we only had 1 or 2 choices, compared to some others where we have 5 or 6.

message 33: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11188 comments Mod
Ohhh Robin, what did you think about The Rosie Effect? I reread The Rosie Project last month, but I struggled getting into the second one.

message 34: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie | 96 comments I finished The Quarry Girls. a tough read about secrets and growing up and figuring out you can't trust everyone you're supposed to be able to trust.

I put it under an author with an intial in NOLA but again, it could go so many places. I think I even figured out how to turn the square yellow!

Emily wrote: "Ohhh Robin, what did you think about The Rosie Effect? I reread The Rosie Project last month, but I struggled getting into the second one."

You had to suspend disbelief more in the 2nd one but I did enjoy it. The audio is great at showing Don's logical manner.

I read How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia. The only place we have left where it seems to fit is blue on cover.

message 37: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3319 comments I didn't finish anything today but should finish at least one for tomorrow.

Happy reading!

message 38: by Kellie Lyn (new)

Kellie Lyn | 211 comments Finished The Lost Causes of Bleak Creek and put it on struggle with life and death. I am going to start Shadow and Bone. Hope to finish tomorrow.

We are so close to finishing so many beads! My current read will likely end up being a second use for a prompt we've already filled, as it doesn't fill any open prompts. Hooray team!

message 40: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3319 comments I finished Letters of Two Brides and put it under "set in the 18th century." We've finished the Green bead. A pendant needs to be added. Not sure how to do that.

message 41: by Laurii (last edited Feb 13, 2024 09:40AM) (new)

Laurii | 68 comments I added the pendant for Green and marked it as complete!

I will finish Legends & Lattes today. I am thinking to use it for someone wearing jewelry on the cover, which will complete the silver bead!

I also finished Your Inner Fish and put it under A book whose main character's name starts with a letter in MARDI GRAS.

message 42: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3319 comments I finished Queen Bee and marked it for "a book featuring a king or queen." One of the main characters is called Queen Bee. Also another character raises bees and talks about the queen.

message 43: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie | 96 comments I finished Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers and put it under 'a book where a character cooks a meal' because heaven knows Vera was always cooking stuff that sounded just delicious!

message 44: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11188 comments Mod
We are doing amazing for this challenge! Great job team!

message 45: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3319 comments I finished The Eyes and the Impossible: by Dave Eggers to finish off a blue bead. It put it under "author's first or last name starting with letters BLUE."

message 46: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (elizabeth1234561) | 223 comments Having a busier week than I thought I would ugh. Really hoping to finish a book today. And at least the 2 audiobooks I'm listening to sometime this week.

Hey all! I'm not sure if my reading has gotten slower or I'm just more distracted than I used to be, but I finally finished The Librarianist. I started our second black bead... I figured we finished that one first and easily, so that might be an easy one to get a second one of. It didn't finish any beads we don't have yet.

I'm going to pick up The Disappearance of Astrid Bricard tomorrow and I should get through it quickly after slogging through a lot of literary fiction recently.

message 48: by Robin P, Orbicular Mod (new)

Robin P | 3981 comments Mod
I had some things come up yesterday and today that really slowed down my reading, hope to do better tomorrow. As a team, we are doing great.

message 49: by Kellie Lyn (new)

Kellie Lyn | 211 comments I finally finished Shadow and Bone and put it in a story with ball or dance. While the ball is not most of the book, it does have a very significant event happen at it that propels the story. If that is not acceptable, let me know and I will move it. I am starting Remember Me and hope to finish tomorrow or Friday.

message 50: by Laurii (new)

Laurii | 68 comments I read Dawn's Desire for a spicy book and finished the purple bead.
